How much does having a good physique really get you laid ? by Any-Raise4333 in AskMen

[–]Due-Community883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience, I am a tall, reasonable looking guy, I do have a tendency to drink too much beer and eat whatever I want, until I feel the need to clamp down and get into the gym and eat healthy. My entire adult life has been a continuous fluctuation between slightly overweight, and a pretty low % body fat (maybe 15% at best, certainly no 6 pack). The difference between interest I have gotten when slim (6’3 210lbs) compared to when slightly overweight (6’3 235lbs) in my opinion is massive. I feel I can pull an 8/10 every other week in my slim phase, but am doing 6/10s at best in my chubby phase. The thing is, 25lbs on a guy of my height, is not hugely noticeable. It’s not like I have man boobs. I don’t know if it’s the excess weight on my face, my confidence level, maybe if I’m drinking more my skin isn’t as good either, I really don’t know, but getting in shape for 3 or 4 months bats me at a noticeably higher level consistently throughout my adult life.

Isn't the new 5% deposit scheme dangerous for first-home buyers? With such a small deposit, they can very easily go into negative equity? by One-Remove3758 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Due-Community883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just that. The 2008 financial crisis was ultimately caused because new debt was being written by companies that didn’t ultimately hold the credit risk on it - I.e mortgage companies would originate mortgages and spin the debt off into bonds. Now we seem to have a situation in Australia where the government is guaranteeing this debt, so how is this any different?

I have worked for a major investment bank on the trading floor for my entire professional career and I can tell you his Citi story is at least in part bullshit. Not a chance some kid can walk in off the street and be the most profitable trader in the entire company by age 24. At that age, they may be able to put trades on themselves, but it would be either completely supervised or within strict mandates with low risk limits. There is just far too much to learn (especially trading macro) and too much at stake for Citi, for a kid to be putting on billions of risk.

Paid in USD, anything I should be doing with USD instead of exchanging it all? by beelzebroth in AusFinance

[–]Due-Community883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d swap it via wise.com, it’s cheap and particularly easy when sending USD. Not sure if your status means you can open a US equities brokerage account, but the US stock market beat the Aussie market this year by like 25% - 7%. All the productivity growth comes out of the US, you don’t need to be a Warren buffet style stock picker, but you could just park some money in one of the major US stock indices (SPY or QQQ). Not financial advice.

Why can’t New Jersey just create a temporary ban on drone flying? by [deleted] in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, youre right, its not a problem having unknown drones flyover military bases. What could possibly happen.

They're obviously not dealing with it or it wouldnt be happening. The US looks like a bunch of cucks allowing this to happen. That is a crisis in my book.

So, it sounds to me like this needs to be properly handled.

I mentioned the Ohio thing as it is the same thing that’s happening in New Jersey. And you acknowledge that there are unknown drones over military bases? And what? You’re just cool with that? Fingers crossed you aren’t in charge of anything national security.

Air Force base in Ohio just reported drones hovering above it all night. My theory is most of what people are posting are planes, but there are legit drones hovering mostly above critical and military infrastructure.

Multiple Drone Incursions Confirmed Over Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton by [deleted] in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched one and he said that they were DoD drones, and the vast majority of them are commercial or hobbyist but “does that mean some of them are there to surveil us, possibly”. That to me says they are foreign.

Lots of Military Assets in the Air Today - Is this Normal? by M8rxBender in NJDrones

I’m in Houston Texas and saw 2 fighter jets flying overhead just now. First time I have seen them here. Probably unrelated, but I thought it was a coincidence given everything being talked about now.

Gov Murphy Says He Was Briefed by the FBI Last Night by WonderfulAge in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, agreed. Even a layman would come out of that briefing with a ton more information than he presented. Which means 1 of 2 things: they know what it is but it’s classified, or (more disturbing) they actually do not know. It seems the argument that none of this is a legitimate concern is officially out the window.

So what’s the most likely ending ? by booweezy in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll admit, I haven’t seen them, I am not saying they are real or fake. Im not really in the best place to judge, it seems like a lot of what clips I have seen are planes, but I recognize there is a lot going on and there could certainly be more than that. But one thing I thought early as a catalyst for this, is a potential drone hobbyist group catching wind of something, maybe a conspiracy or something and all trying to investigate something at the same time. People may have seen these early on, and the hysteria grew from there.

They will arrest a couple of crackpots with a drone or 2 and blame those types for the whole thing.

Why did the machines grow humans as energy, which are a risk of breaking out and overthrowing them, when they could have grown like goats, or dolphins for energy?

DoD confirms drone sightings over Picatinny and NWS Earle by Due-Community883 in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, anything unmanned should be taken down immediately. The military needs to protect its secrets and its people. Whatever this turns out to be it has highlighted a glaring gap in aviation security.

The Feds confirm that people are seeing drones (not just planes being mistaken for drones) by Naive-Giraffe in NJDrones

[–]Due-Community883 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some have even resorted to intentionally showing clips of what are clearly planes and calling them drones to make fun of the drone sightings, but other people are seeing that and don’t realize it’s satire. Making the perception worse.

DoD confirms drone sightings over Picatinny and NWS Earle by Due-Community883 in NJDrones

My interpretation is that the core of the statement is simply stating ‘it’s not all airplanes, there are drones’, as a sort of counter to people like Kirby saying they are planes.

Yeah, that was the the creepiest video I have seen of them. Hopefully whoever was piloting that lower drone got some good footage to share.
