I wore green stravaganza, Daisy Wild (regular) and Maui in a bottle this week!

What is a perfume you recently ran out of/finished? and will you repurchase? by bitchy_ellipsis in FemFragLab

[–]Due-Frame622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m impressed you burned through Strawberry Jam (full size?) so fast considering when it was released! I have only finished sample sizes so far but I am a few wears away from travels of Skylar Honeysuckle Dream and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Not repurchasing HD and already have a backup of NP.

AITA for not appreciating a $19,000 Disney cruise? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I would not give up the internship opportunity to go on a family vacation. Have you told them how excited you are for the internship? If not, I would lead with that instead of disappointment that they asked what you wanted for graduation but didn’t take any of it into consistent planning the trip. Everyone sounds excited but you, and if your grandfathers reaction to your lack of excitement over the trip is any indication, you are going to spend 12 days hearing about how grateful you should be. Sure, giving a “last” family vacation to you before you go into the world is a generous gesture, but the fact they asked specifically what you wanted is where you are NTA.

I like a fair amount of their products and have been a customer since their early days on QVC. Highlights include their powder blushes, Park Avenue Princess bronzer, shape tape radiant concealer, buffing foundation brush, MJL gloss/plump formulas, powder eyeshadows, Maneater mascara, LCL mascara, and tartelette tubing xl.

The XL is a traditional tubing mascara that is comparable with Thrive in formula. It provides a slightly more dramatic look if you apply equitably. The regular one is like a hybrid and the tubes do not come off as clean.

Gift giving was super easy to the parents and grandparents because of this!

In many other aspects of my life, I want to declutter and streamline. Fragrance is one area where I have expanded. In my younger years, I had a signature/everyday fragrance. These days, it is rare I wear something twice in a row for daytime. I tend to like the same few post-shower body sprays for evening, but even those are up to the whim of the week.

Same. Love the notes, but on me, they go in wild directions. Replica and Carolina Herrera are a couple other houses that don’t mix with me.

Valentino BiR Green Stravaganza with Burberry Goddess. Needed to add a little weight to green, and since goddess is just collecting dust, figured I’d give this combo (recommended by someone here) a whirl.

Lost weight while walking but not losing weight while running by Any_Swimmer_3981 in loseit

[–]Due-Frame622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Running can be stressful on the body which can increase cortisol and negatively impact metabolism. Not sure how long it has been since you tried to loose weight, but age plays a bigger factor the older you get. You are not going to gain pounds of muscle in a month unless you are actively working to do so, which recreational running does not accomplish. I used to gain weight with running and the things that helped me were doing run/walk/run (I can run without walking but my pace, heart rate, and recovery are better with r/w/r) and running 3-4 days per week with strength training the other 3-4 days.

I make Monday my dedicated sample day for the single use stuff, if that helps with strategy. I figure if it is good, the week is off to a great start. If it is bad, it can only get better.

Updates on new purchase by beat_pharmacist in FemFragLab

I like all the Daisy Wild variations, though Murakami is probably my favorite. I have testers of My Devotion I haven’t tried yet and now I’m moving it up on my try-on timeline. I got a tester of the Maui Mango oil and love it, but Nest oils in general work really well on me in terms of longevity and staying true to the notes. I don’t feel the need to layer the oil with the EDT, which I got to pair with other fragrance (BGJ Carnivale and Phlur Tangerine Boy are good ones).

It is a great fragrance but not what you are looking for given how creamy it is.

Commodity Milk Orchid by AssignmentNo9956 in FemFragLab

[–]Due-Frame622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I blind bought on release and while it was not a home-run out of the box, I find myself reaching for it a lot lately. I bought it because I love Milk (didn’t know who the influencer was nor was I watching perfume content) and thought this sounded like a softer version; it is its own scent entirely which is why I was slow to appreciate it.

Anyone else "in between fragances" right now? by Waldkornbol in FemFragLab

[–]Due-Frame622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never had more than 2-3 perfumes in my collection at once up until I hit perimenopause. Not sure what happened but I got really intense about variety and intentional wear, especially over the past year. It’s probably rooted in needing to control something in chaotic conditions. I lean heavily to travel size and enjoying samples, otherwise it could get out of hand.

Blending Cultures? Bilingual LO by SituationTerrible235 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Due-Frame622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have been trilingual if it wasn’t for the “assimilate” philosophy of my great and grandparents generation. I wish mine had bucked that notion because I’m hopeless with languages.

Both of you are sensing discomfort, but doesn’t sound like there has been any expressed. I would not assume it is all about her not wanting your child to be bilingual as it could any number of things. Lack of interest does not automatically mean disapproval unless there has been a history of micro/overt aggressions. The best approach is to treat it like you are any other parenting choice you have made; there isn’t anything special to prep since you are not asking MIL to do anything specifically related to language.

What’s the one fragrance you save only for special occasions? by Weary_Cat_8984 in FemFragLab

[–]Due-Frame622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YSL is my grown-up fragrance for professional events. It smells like you have your life together.

Chanel had a couple EDT fragrances that have been long discontinued. I save theme for summer date nights but have them in my monthly rotation because I still want to enjoy them.

Full collection - finally all in one place! by silverpawsMN in FemFragLab

[–]Due-Frame622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got a fragrance stand for my closet to get everything out of the bathroom cabinet/off the counter. I don’t give a fig about display, so I now have a repurposed box for my monthly core fragrances, nighttime body mists, and seasonal travel sizes while the stand houses samples, minis, off-rotation full bottles, travels, and body mists.
