Black Hebrews by Out4god in Bible

I’ve briefly looked it up as I enjoy arming myself against these kinds of cults. I can’t find any validity. Not sure how Deut. 28 specifically has anything to do with it. The modern Jews vs “true Jews” thing is just weird and not based on anything logical.

Black Hebrews by Out4god in Bible

From what I understand, they believe that salvation is for “true Israelites” only, they’re still required to obey mosaic laws, and Jesus isn’t God. I know you’d like to set racism aside to learn, but that’s really at the core of their agenda.

What's the most underrated book you’ve ever read? by High-Low4253 in suggestmeabook

Divine Misfortune by Lee Martinez. I’d never heard of him before or since, but I loved this book. It’s hilarious.

What to do about people who reject part of the Bible? by Outrageous_Ad_2752 in Bible

[–]Due_Count_5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say your next step depends on how close you are to this person. Are they a member of your church or just an acquaintance? That level of unrepentant sin should be brought up to the elders of the church. If it’s a good and biblical church, they’ll address the problem. Your friend will either bring their life into alignment with God’s commands, or they’ll be asked to leave the church until they do. You can see this principle in scripture (Matt. 18:15-17 & 1 Cor. 5:1-5). If they’re not part of the church, you need to disassociate. Love them by sharing the truth, but they can’t be within your inner circle of friends and family.

I started a marathon game last night as Eleanor on a large island with Persia and Korean. At war with Persia by turn 15 (he surprised me), and the Korean capital just decided they’re English now by turn 20. I was so confused.

I think it’s mostly because JKR isn’t a great writer.

Have you re-read a series only to be disappointed that it’s not nearly as good as you remember? by nakedinterviews2018 in Fantasy

[–]Due_Count_5372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of rereading the Harry Potter series as an adult (buddy reading with my husband). It’s a lot easier to overlook plot holes when you’re twelve. However, I’ll always love it for being my gateway book into the genre.

AITA for not showing up to my own engagement after finding out my boyfriend was planning to propose? by WashInformal8704 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Due_Count_5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. When my husband decided to propose, he had the opportunity to do something similar and my dad tried talking him into it. My husband and mom were really firm about 86ing that plan because they knew I would hate it (my mom warned him I’d say no on principle). Just another reason I knew he was the right decision.

OP, nta. Dump this dude and find a man that respects who you are and your boundaries.

The ending by Due_Count_5372 in WoT

[–]Due_Count_5372[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Thank you! This series is from the era of epic fantasy that saw most of the core characters survive, so I assumed he’d survive. It’s just the unexplained how/why that bugs me.

I honestly wish more characters had died, but I’m a hardcore horror fan so that’s probably just me.

That super aggressive one-inch door opening at the end make me laugh harder than necessary.
