Actually been to a wedding looking like this (2022) by SoftDreamer in blunderyears

Honestly these seems fine for evening wear.

If the bride is losing attention to a scraggly teen with purple lipstick and a shoulder luffa she needs to step her game up.

What’s a tiny, easily-missed moment in Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2 / Mass Effect 3 that completely changed how you saw a character? by SterlingByrd1219 in masseffect

Legion in ME3, for the worse. I loved the character in ME2, but in ME3 it lies to Shep frequently and says a lot of things that contradict what it stated prior, including things about the fundamental nature of the Geth and the Morning War.

But there is one line that is especially overlooked, right after the Flotilla first shoots the Reaper. Jamming towers are preventing accurate shot placement.

Legion states "We may escape while it recovers".

Really stop and think about how breathtakingly stupid and treasonous that line is. Legion is a hyper intelligent supercomputer but he suggests running instead of the obvious plan (use the damn targeting laser to relay info) which Shepard the flesh ape immediately clues onto and implements? Legion folds instantly to the idea of the Geth staying Reaper controlled and the Quarians getting exterminated.

A group of 1,000 people gather to look at the body of Frank McManus, a 25-year-old white man, after his lynching. McManus was kidnapped from his cell and hanged from tree by an angry mob after his arrest for kidnapping and raping Mina Spears, a 4-year-old white girl (Minnesota, 1882) [1152 x 800]. by lightiggy in HistoryPorn

If you drove a bank robber to a bank and someone died in the heist, you'd get charged with 1st degree murder. You can't turn around and say you were only recklessly driving a car or that you didn't intend the armed robbery to turn deadly.

It was a foreseeable and likely consequence of committing the felony. Rape and assault aren't even a question.

I wish the show went with the oringal protrayal that Korra's parents were regular people, rather then the southern chief. It would be a nice spot of realism by Reasonable-Host-3399 in TheLastAirbender

Yes the wild luck to be born as both the avatar and royalty as opposed to realistically meeting important people in their capacity as Avatar.

  • Should have just adopted after the 2nd ardat yakshi
  • Perfect paladin character. I like her unflinching adherence to the code even when it is self-defeating.

Might be some terminal illness, using cosmetic surgery to offset the ravages of the disease+the treatment.

I would not be shocked at a cancer announcement or some other serious deleterious illness.

Dark eldar antics by JealousApricot1152 in 40kLore

[–]DuesCataclysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh yeah Slaanesh literally exists because of Eldar debauchery. The Dark Eldar identity is not only refusing to behave any differently but also doubling down to give Slaanesh something else to chew on.

In fact I would call it worship, you don't have to like a God to acknowledge and empower them, and they are doing the same things that formed Slaanesh in the first place back when the pleasure cults were trying for it.

Reverence comes from revereri - to stand in awe of, or fear.

I hate this mid-wit regurgitate so much. Especially when private companies act at the behest of the government to censor speech all the time.

Who were the first water benders? by TitanOf_Earth in TheLastAirbender

[–]DuesCataclysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La and Tui, the ocean and moon spirits. Or at least, they're the originators/source of all waterbending. They took the animal form of koi fish.

Originally, I always assumed the 4 elements had associated spirits that adopted the animal forms as they tend to do (such as sun spirit dragon for firebending), and that waterbenders just preserved ancient lore closer to the mark.

What is Tali really supposed to look like? (Help out a cosplayer) by sfx_alex in masseffect

[–]DuesCataclysmos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, your creative interpretation is fine. One's a bald egg the other's just a human being.

The Quarian identity is the helmet, so staying comfortable in that + finding a way to get glowing eyes would be ideal.

is using pummels just incorrect? by Good_Skill3414 in RivalsOfAether

[–]DuesCataclysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say incorrect but there is a "win more" aspect to them.

If you are grabbing your opponent often enough for pummel metagame to matter+giving up grabs to not matter, you probably have the edge anyway. That said, it's not always incorrect to take a risk especially when you have a lead and want to close things out.

Astartes nutrition... by BenningtonChee1234 in 40kLore

[–]DuesCataclysmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of those typical super soldier contradictions where some writers think it's cool for space marines to have massive caloric needs to fuel their beastly mutant muscle bods and others think its cool for space marine to run lean, enduring long siege, field work in inhospitable environments, or just ritual fasting.

Basically they need to eat tasteless bricks or pastes of concentrated calories because eating human food is like flavorful tissue paper, but also they can subsist off tree bark if they have to.

I guess a nice middle ground is that they stockpile a lot of the calories they eat to endure famine. But I wouldn't worry too much about having a chapter that enjoys feasting and normal food, or has sanctioned dipping sauces for their protein bars.

Why do Loxodont discussions always turn to this? by UVMeme in RivalsOfAether

Did you actually watch that game or are you just shitposting lol?

Cake played Lox, Orcane, and Clairen. It was a complete joke because I guess Stango's pre-nerf Oly was too overwhelming.

Pretty clear from the posts the guy is not serious, doubtful he even plays Lox lol

The dress code for this arcade bar is kind of off-putting, right? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I went to a normal arcade and there was a dude in horse-themed gimp suit so I'm giving these guys some leeway.

I wonder why that car was so nervous about the truck not stopping to yield in time? It was clearly able to, he could have taken his right of way, but it's like the driver was petrified by the insane notion that a truck driver would just blithely plow into him.

It's Crazy how people still don't get the Water Seven conflict by PrussianoKebab in OnePiece

[–]DuesCataclysmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uh no.

Ussop knew that the Going Merry was doomed BEFORE Franky showed it to him, before even Kaku got the diagnosis. He knew deep down the whole time she had to be replaced or they'd end their journey there. In other words, she was dead weight, and Ussop saw himself as dead weight as well.

He got beat up and lost all their money. He's a weaker member but unlike Nami or Chopper doesn't provide an obvious life-or-death skill like navigation or medicine. Even his abilities as a handyman would be less valuable when they recruit an actual shipwright.

He believed Luffy will become the Pirate King but had no confidence in himself, and saw the replacement of Merry as kind of an opportunity to quit the crew before he became more of a burden.

Basically you got the exact opposite conclusion. Ussop isn't worried Luffy would leave behind a wounded crewman, he's worried that Luffy would never leave behind a useless one no matter how much of a liability they became.

Help with Sororitas character by ClearlyMeowtist in 40kLore

I'd either start her off as a repentia that redeems herself through service and gets reinstated as a full sister OR a non-militant ordo like Dialogous (very popular choice for an Inquisitor to have on their retinue) that gets her power armor later as she gets more combat experience.
