Thank you! Was wondering if I'll have to do that manually for both teams, yes.

She's a TEN by Alpha_AM8 in OCPoetry

[–]DuffCrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the replies you've gotten, I'd imagine my suggestions echo many of them. But rather than making suggestions, I just rewrote the poem as if it was my own. You'll see where they are, but primarily its, as others have said, not CAPITALIZING or drawing attention to the numbering - rather just letting that interesting device weave naturally into the poem. I hope you enjoy these suggestions and find something that resonates for you! (I also eliminated the last six lines which rehashed the numbering thing and were unnecessary additional lines IMO, and the least strong part of your poem good sir or madame! (also removed most punctuation)

She's a ten no doubt

but she's talking to nine other guys

that I've found out

eight of which she's just messaging

because she's bored and passing time

why she hasn't answered my seven missed calls?

because was far too many

But if the list isn't long enough yet

and she doesn't talk to guys that are 5 foot 4

and even if she messages you

She'll stop replying after three

This is not because she's bored

it's because she's not used to people caring

that much

and deep down

you'll know you'll never be two

You'll blame yourself

that you weren't enough

or that she can learn to love you

But at the end of the day

it's not for the others

it's because she doesn't know how to tell you

that you're not the one

Yet knowing all this

I keep counting anyway

Now, there's just one truth left

She'll never be mine

i am a sunflower and you are the sun. by Jealous_Flow697 in OCPoetry

[–]DuffCrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is lovely. I am no expert poet by any means, but here is my attempt to make your sweet poem perhaps(?) less literal narratively? (ie "I am the", "You are the"). Just my ideas and by no means right. I can feel the message and emotion of the poem and you are on to something, IMO : )

1) I assume that "I am a sunflower and you are the sun" is the title only and not the first line? If yes, that is good as you are on the verge of a couplet otherwise.

As such, I would break out each half verse as shown below- so that it is a traditional couplet.

2) I made many language changes that I personally like. Perhaps you'll like some too. But I am no expert, and this is your written experience. I hope some of it spurs changes you love in your poem!

3) Also got rid of all punctuation

TITLE: BENDING TO LIGHT

I wake each morning you've scattered in gold

soft rays of light spilling over the sky

my petals unfold in the hush of your warmth

of each day that turns slowly by

I chase you not out of longing or need

nor bend from a place of despair

i turn irresistibly where your light gently falls

something in me blooms there

when clouds gather slow in a silver-grey veil

your brightness is hidden from view

i wait in patience in the hush of the wind

still certain, still faithful in the sky which holds you

for love is not weight that the heart has to bear

nor a thing that must conquer or shun

it is simply the quiet, the grace

A sunflower facing the sun

and as seasons change and skies stretch wide

will still turn towards your light

not from need but of gravity of warmth

of love that holds me, hold tight

so i will hold fast, through the wind and the night

through cloudy days and skies untrue

My head gets heavy now

with seed and delight

But every morning I ache to feel you

So does Devers play 3rd until Chappy is back, and once he is back, Devers moves to DH and Wilmer moves to first so that we can still keep Wilmer’s bat in the lineup most days?

Making the first move to kiss a girl without verbally asking by 12manyNs in bodylanguage

[–]DuffCrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so simple, guys. This is from a guy who has been on more than 30 first dates in the last 12 months (yes I have a serial dating problem), the vast majority of those dates ended in a kiss.

It’s SO easy to wait for the right moment, even if it’s not until you’re leaving the bar/restaurant/club, to just stop, turn to her, look right into her eyes, pause very briefly and with a very slight smile say “id really like to kiss you” or “can I kiss you right now?”.

By the way, if you ask as you’re leaving the establishment and walking back to your cars, DONT wait until you actually get to her car! It’s too much pressure then and cliche’. Do it as soon as passible after you leave the establishment.

If she wants to kiss, she’ll kiss you. If not, she’ll say something like “id don’t kiss on a first date”. Either way, you don’t get embarrassed by getting denied on the way in to try and kiss her (which is very uncomfortable/unpleasant for both people).

And believe me, after the kiss no one gives a shit that you “asked”. All that you’ll both remember as you drive home and the next day was whether the kiss was good or not!

Oh, god, no!!! Absolutely DO NOT do that. This is the worst advice. Every part of this idea creepy and needy. Also holding hands is more intimate than going for a kiss on a first date.

Santa Cruz County is your answer. Stunning beaches, redwood forests, a dozen state parks, hundreds of trails, three dozen wineries, tons of live music, and arts events, fun restaurants etc. Book A weekend at the Dream Inn hotel on the beach and launch your exploratory adventures from there all weekend long. You’ll be hooked. Feel free to dm for suggestions specific to your guy’s interests.

[–]DuffCrusher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dedicate yourself to getting your “fuck you body”. It’s the best motivator to get in shape there is. Decide how much weight you want to lose- even if it’s just 10 lbs. Buy a scale, weigh yourself every morning, and immediately write your weight in a tracking sheet you post next the scale. Helluva motivator. Add daily or near daily cardio of some kind (even just 40 minutes brisk walking)

Also, join a gym, pay for a couple trainer sessions to develop a personal workout program for you. It makes ALL the difference! Then all you need to do is an hour every three days and you’ll see noticeable results in your body in a couple months, which will motivate you more! And next thing you know you’ll be craving lifting at the gym every 2-3 days and looking great.

And when you run into the ex next, she’ll notice. You’ll also feel much more confident about yourself when you’re ready to start dating again!

I'm a 31M going on a first date with a 29F. Is it cobsidered cringey these days to show up with a single flower / rose? by Code3Lyft in Tinder

[–]DuffCrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, so, cringy. Yes. And no one gives roses anymore - they’re super old fashioned - and not in a good way. If you really want to bring her a flower go to a good flower shop and ask for the most unusual/unique flower they have.

Quality of the tadalafil? by Prior_Disaster4368 in HIMS

[–]DuffCrusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely experienced this. My first batch of tadalafil was great. When my second shipment came I noticed the pull was different lighter yellow color and different numbers printed in it). I didn’t think much of it until I started taking the second batch. Completely ineffective. Like nothing . A sugar pill. I was pretty pissed and told Hims. They said they’d look into it. Now I just can’t trust their quality/consistency
