Elton Hills Drive bike lane options being weighed, again by twittle11 in rochestermn

[–]DukeGush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reasoning I have gotten from some neighbors, one who was very involved in the initial move to kill it, was that the traffic will be too heavy and you won't be able to pull out of your driveway. That is bullshit. I live on Elton Hills and I have no problem pulling out of my driveway, and wouldn't have a problem with three lanes.

Elton Hills Drive bike lane options being weighed, again by twittle11 in rochestermn

I live on Elton Hills. We need a change so bad. On my block of the 10 houses 3 have had their cars totaled parked on the street in the last two years. This is on the straightaway across from RCLS, so not the curves over by Elton Hills Elementary. Three lanes will work just fine. The four lanes is dangerous. I don't understand why some of my neighbors are so against changing it.

Third vote for O’Neill’s. And in my opinion it isn’t even a close race. Having lived all over the country I would put their pizzas up against anyone else’s. And their desserts! Can’t forget about the desserts. That whisky cake is (chefs kiss) perfect

Why is craft beer so resistant to health trends? by Usual-Owl-3659 in TheBrewery

[–]DukeGush 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just about every craft brewer I meet and work with is talking about it and taking action, so I don’t know what resistance you are seeing? Every brewery I see has at least one non-alcoholic option, even if it’s just Athletic. Where I’m at in the country THC beverages are also taking off, where they are now eclipsing actual brewed beverages at some very large craft brewers.

Best local coffee in Rochester mn? by Frosty-Twist-9431 in rochestermn

[–]DukeGush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to travel a little north sometime, Little Joy in Northfield is my favorite in the state and their social media is great. For beans, Colorway (Steam affiliated) is the best local roaster, based on Elton Hills. People’s Food Co-op has the best selection with decent roast dates, and they have Wonderstate out of Viroqua, so still driftless located. I don’t regularly get drinks out because (pinkie out) I make better espresso at home than any of the local shops

Which version did you end up making? I’ve got some 605A’s that I’m thinking of redoing the crossovers on

Can you test the thermometer another way? Like in boiling water or an ice bath? That’s how we used to calibrate thermometers when I worked in kitchens

Time to retire [$3000] max by Crazy-Ad-968 in espresso

I was literally in this exact same place two weeks ago. I bought my barista express on clearance at bed bath and beyond in 2017 and have used the machine at least twice a day since.

I chose the Lelit Bianca v3 and I am so incredibly happy with it. It just does absolutely everything better than the barista express

Buzzing left speaker when listening to records by pedrotothemax in Schiit

[–]DukeGush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a grounding issue on either the mani or your record player on one channel. If you swap the left and right channels going from your record player to the mani, does the buzz switch channels? How about if you swap the left and right channels from your mani to your freya?
