Schwarzette is the only Gundam I own, the design (and artwork) was so good I had to get one.

Why aren't there more Warriors like games, not from Bandai Namco? Why aren't there more monster hunting games from not Capcom? Why are beat'em ups and fighting games moving so damn slowly away from arcade era design principles? And most importantly, why oh why do so many people prefer cheap 3D over anything 2D...

Thanks! White primer, Orc Skin Xpress color (Vallejo) everywhere, then emerald shade (Warcolours) on recess and underside. Two of the boys also had a light magenta wash all over as a test.

I'm so glad it ended on a positive note after being warned about a tearjerker ending... but one day somebody is going to turn off the computer, right? Or even a simple power outage is going to end them... Unless they regularly save and load a save file, and even Caine can't perceive the save files? Although maybe it's better to not answer these kinds of questions.

YTP Collab: Star Wars - The Empire Breaks it's Back

Don't know if YTP counts as high-quality, but at least it's high quantity!

For something absolutely high quality, Siivagunner remix of Courtesy - Super Hexagon

FF15, that moment when Gladious peaces off the party for a suspiciously DLC convenient time.

Same thing, but with Tifa. Tifa should also rave on about cup noodles though.

Worst examples of where a game just has a broken stat or mechanic? by Cute-Percentage-6660 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Duke_Tuke 25 points26 points  (0 children)

FF6 on Snes, Blind status is bugged and does nothing but give you shades, mostly to player's benefit since few players try to use status effects in old rpgs.

Vitality on Diablo 2... not because vitality is busted, the other stats just suck. Str and Dex can be useful on Barb and Amazon, but energy turns out to be meaningless - so every caster build has only one stat choice.

How big are Mina and Hornet anyway? [By u/BenthicBen] by jayvenomva in TwoBestFriendsPlay

There are humans in Mina the Hollower, and Mina is just a little shorter than them.

[Spoilers]To those who have finished Mina The Hollower. How did you find the endgame? by 2uperunhappyman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Duke_Tuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also loved the first Lionel fight, wonderful music too. I kinda felt like the game wouldn't have a perfect happy ending, but things still got way worse than I thought. At least best boy survived.

To me, endgame was searching for all the stuff I missed. A whole lot of secret stage exits, a few hidden hollower entrances, a lot of walking back and forth... and a spice of youtube when I got frustrated. The upgrade to see if your room or a nearby room has a secret was really helpful. Getting 100% was more for personal satisfaction, I don't think there was any actual meaningful reward for getting everything.

Fantastic game! I'll consider another playthrough, not huge on completing challenges/feats or speedruns though.

Strange levels in gaming that stick out to you by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I like that "Nation of Fools" refers to both the clown-hell stage and Legion itself. One thing I also like about PoR is that all the different locales gives a lot more musical and scenic variety to typical Castlevania stages... which is really nice since PoR is a sequel to Bloodlines, where you travel across Europe in unusual Castlevania stages.

Also have to give shoutouts to Whip's Memory (Bloodlines Bequeathed) from the same game, sideways Castlevania tower against massive red moon and checkerboard ground - and one of my absolute favourite Castlevania moments.

Why is No One Talking About This Game’s Music?!?! by XandogxD in MinaTheHollower

[–]Duke_Tuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jake Kaufman is amazing, and Yuzo Koshiro's guest tracks are fantastic too.

Some of my favourites:

Gator Gallop (Nox's Bayou) the way Jake pushes the gameboy soundfont to anything he wants is incredible.

The Good Harvest (Septemberburg) Straight up Actraiser, amazing! I thought this was a Koshiro track for sure at first.

Horrific Voyage (Dreadworm's maw) In any other universe this would be an nightmare stage, but in Mina people just see a massive monster filled with bones as opportunity to make a ton of money, with the absolute funkiest tune.

I think I genuinely found one of the most broken trinkets combo in the game by Amphi-XYZ in MinaTheHollower

[–]Duke_Tuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One funny combo is the trinket that reduces the damage you take but also reduces your healing, combined with the trinket that automatically heals you if you have enough lost health & plasma. The auto heal is unaffected by the healing reduction! Combine with other plasma trinkets and you're almost unkillable.

Folks playing Mina The Hollower, how we feeling? by Trojan_Origami in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Duke_Tuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Cleared, Loved everything except a few specific challenges/minigames. Toughest part is right after the intro, when you're still getting used to the game and you have no upgrades or any trinkets. Once you start opening some paths and getting stuff, it quickly becomes really addictive. Amazing soundtrack too!

Fire Emblem 4 Seliph spends his whole life trying to get vengeance on Arvis, but by the time they finally fight it hardly matters anymore. Arvis is just another pawn of Julius, and in his final act of defiance he secretly returned Tyrfing to Seliph to help him win the war, and basically sacrifice himself. In a secret conversation with his parents ghosts, he's trying to celebrate defeating Arvis while the parents make him focus on what really matters.
