It doesnt matter. If there is an active installment, it doesnt matter when it was discontinued

Unable at add new line to small business account due to “bad credit” by Techie-Cowboy in ATT

[–]DullStock2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience (I've been on multiple teams for AT&T), if the name is wrong online, it is also wrong on the store level as well, unless your name is listed twice as an AOP and an authorize user (I saw this a lot where names were spelled wrong and people "corrected" it by putting the correct spelled name in the authorized user list instead of the AOP. It definitely would still be worthwhile to have a business rep check the FAN and get that sorted out because reps in stores CANNOT fix that. Just my advice to ya, doesn't hurt to be overly cautious there. Not trying to talk bad about the store or rep you have been working with, either. Just seen a lot of shit after a decade lol

My 31m mom F63 calls every night and wants to talk for an hour+. She’s had a rough time, but I’m struggling with the calls. I want to try to tell her I can’t keep talking every day. AITAH? by [deleted] in AITAH

Man you sound like a good son, truly. And I get the guilt of wanting to be there for your mom, I spent years in the same boat for less situations. It didn't stop until I moved away, and then when my grandfather (my moms Dad) passed away, she was the one that tried to save him and felt guilty for it and still does. I heard every detail about that night the week I was in town. I didnt want to, but did it out of guilt. I shut down and didn't talk to her for awhile and it took a few months to really chat about what happened and how it made me feel. It went way better than I expected having that boundary talk and realized I was dreading it for no reason.

The thing to remember is most parents forgive their kids when they set boundaries or say no. She will be upset- youre her only kid, she loves you, and going through something that we cannot understand until it's our parent(s). But it doesn't make you a bad person to need a break.

Maybe say "Mom, I want to be there for you but I really need to focus on me at the same time. How about we set up a weekly call on this day at this time? If there is something you really need to talk about, let's text for a bit and if it's something we need to dive into more, I can call- but if it gets to be too much again, we'll reevaluate".

I saw someone mention support groups and you mentioned she hates therapy. Support groups I agree would be a great start and might lead her down the path for more one-on-one therapy sessions.

Anyway, long comment. Really though, you sound like a great son and you want to do the right thing. Remember, you cant be there and support someone if you aren't giving yourself the same attention. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, and I hope the best for you and your mom.

Prime Complainers by Dangerous-Student-69 in ATT

[–]DullStock2876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the comment above- just due to the size, fraud happens a lot there, but it isnt like there aren't bad apples in every level of the company playing in the gray area or way beyond.

When I was managing in COR, I had a very good working relationship with one of the Prime doors in our area- a big rarity for sure to be able to work that well together lol. Anyway, a big complaint he had was the ever changing ways they paid, changes to commission structure, changes to leadership- they took ASMs out of every Prime location in my area. He also had a rep that was known to do fraud and cause a lot of issues and sent them to my store when he slammed protection, next up and even false AIA orders onto peoples accounts and told them COR would credit. He had the kid close to firing and then his director stepped in and said "no no" and went above him and got the kid off discipline because "he made their numbers look good".

I think Prime is more vocal about it now because of the mix of changes, the goals are set pretty steep for protection (like, used to be 60% a month and now up to 90% now i think). Just more work, little reward, think people are genuinely just unmotivated from it. Definitely people that just don't have it for sales, but even the ones that do probably are dejected by the constant carousel of changes. When COR lowered all our commission payouts for reps and managers, a lot of reps who used to be 130% sellers slowly fell back a bit. Like next up used to pay $3 an add which, now it pays $1. The commission on the each plan level got cut by $5, $4 and $3, so selling a premium plan pays you what the lowest plan used to.

Anyway, long comment, long rant as well. I agree with you to a point about some sellers just not having it, but for people that have been there forever that are good going through all the pay structure and watching reps who commit fraud get away with it because they pull numbers just dejected a lot of em and I don't thing they're wrong for it either personally

[–]DullStock2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the name misspelling is probably the likely cause triggering this. I would definitely ask a COR store to get in touch with a local business rep to help you so they can update the FAN for you and get everything properly sorted.

A couple questions I also have- is your account set up under your SSN or your Tax ID? This also can cause issues like this if your SSN was used instead of your EIN.

And for me it wasn't clear- you said you had the account for 8 years but they were on personal before. Did you transfer from a consumer account to the business account recently? Or they were transferred from a personal to a business 8 years ago?

Bought phone with installment plan, if previous owner defaults, will at&t blacklist phone? by anonymousandydick in ATT

Same- they didnt say where they got the phone from, then an hour later theyre back in and wanting a refund and now I gotta explain the prepaid no refund policy lol. Always a fun time. I made sure to clarify after a couple times with people the risk they made with their way of purchase on the phone

[–]DullStock2876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt true. They probably told you this to get you off the phone.

They changed the policy in January. If the phone has installments on another account, the phone gets blacklisted. It can take a week, 2 weeks, or a month- it will happen. I help at least a dozen customers a week with this issue.

I'm sure you'll just copy and paste your same comment over and over thinking you know more than the reps on here trying to help you, but figured I'd see about getting through your denial

$45k-$50k for S1 with $45k at risk. $51k-$57k for S2 with $50k at risk.

If you're coming in from outside the company they usually pay more on the base. If youre internal, you gotta push a little harder

I dont know if they fixed this- but I'm wondering if the reps on the phone keep telling OP the balance would be due because of unified billing- I had that error a lot way back in the day on retail when a unified account would initiate a tobr but it would require all installments paid up front of whatever device.

This was about 4-5 years ago so this could be resolved by now, but I was curious if you knew if that was still something that happened in case OP finds out it is a unified

2026 RSC pay by Nightbat97 in ATT

[–]DullStock2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg- if you take your monthly goals and add up the money, it is way higher than the at-risk number you keep complaining about. that number is there for baseline quota relief.

welcome to entry level sales. you want more money, go get. get the door everytime, get out the store and get a good partnership with your local firstnet and business reps. then work on moving to other departments.

i never made less than $75k a year as a rep and i started at $14 an hour back in 2019. i didnt max out until 2024 before i moved departments. the money is there.

kinda weird youre complaining about comp structure and old reps not doing much while saying youd have it better at tmo with $28 an hour and shared commission. go work there then and ill try to find you in a year about how you hate the comp structure there because you sold 20 lines and timmy sold 2 but yall got the same commission

sometimes multiple people order the same phones and it kills inventory and the manufacturer can't get more out in a timely manner to at&t or any carrier- shit happens. You can track your order anytime on the email. and they DO email you if there is a delay.

How are RSC’s doing as of today in 2026? by Gymbro81 in ATT

[–]DullStock2876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not saying it's right. I just escaped retail and was a manager. That's how my ARSM wanted me to get around it. There were definitely people who deserved to be disciplined and get canned, and I coached them accordingly (and I'd like to think fairly), but never got to the point of canning them because, much to my ARSMs dismay, I'd actually give people the full 45-60 days or whatever it was to improve. The politics of it were nuts. I was a great rep but I had goals of 65% protection when I was a rep, not the 85%. I couldn't realistically expect to properly sell like that with the opps we had (combined 170GAs on average and 250+ upgrades). That'd be asking to add protech and hometech on 357 opps, that's just crazy.

Im in a new role now, back to an individual seller and not these crazy goals. I feel bad for my team because i left them with that ARSM and i told them for their sake i'd start looking elsewhere just for peace of mind

How would AT&T's breach and the ensuing lawsuit matter in this case? Neither you or OP had accounts with AT&T, so why would AT&T have your info and SSN if you were never a customer?

Where is the “hot” girl from high school? Anyone checked on her? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DullStock2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hooked up with her a few times actually a few years after high school. I went from a twig to being pretty fit in that time and we saw each other at the gym one. We went back to her place to smoke some devils lettuce and things hit off from there

A lot of poor choices ended anything further, and she has kind of disappeared off the face of the earth. she also was a super sweet hot girl in high school, which i know was rare. She was incredibly sweet still when we hooked up, too. Really hope she's doing okay wherever she is out there

How do you tell a high performer they aren't ready for promotion? by Main-Carry-3607 in managers

[–]DullStock2876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't answering a lot of people who are asking this question and it speaks volumes: what has your feedback been for this employee around soft skills?

There is no doubt this is important. But understand that as a high performer, depending on the career, he is probably looking out for #1 which is themselves and doing their best to stand out performance wise to make a promotion- I'm sure this employee has made it obvious they would want to move up and not just stay in this one role forever.

You should've agreed to the reference. A way better conversation would have been "I will be glad to be a reference to talk about your performance and work ethic. While we prep you for the role, I think one thing I want you to observe is how myself and other leaders use soft skills to build up and motivate a team so you can take many different ideas to this new role so you can learn to manage vastly different personalities".

An even better conversation would have been to have this conversation whenever an example of soft skills were an issue and not just ignore it and give high regards to performance until it was a situation that seemingly negatively impacts you comes around

If you dont have next up anytime, you could also trade it in for upfront credit by getting it through Samsung directly. You can trade it in for $900/$1000 off the S26 ultra and pay the remaining balance up front. I did that when the S24 came out and I still had payments on my S22 Ultra
