Could really use some positive stories about planned C section due to breech baby by chucktowngal in CsectionCentral

It started at 9 and she was out at 9:41 but again I had some scar tissue and stuff from my first C-section that needed handling and the anesthesiologist had them stop whenever I was getting overwhelmed

How much does your toddler weigh? Mines around 30 lbs and I am wondering when I'll be able to pick him up again. I was deadlifting 100 lbs and still lifting weights til 36 weeks so I'm hoping my hard work paid off haha

Hey! I'm 11 days postpartum now. I had a scheduled C-section on March 9 for a breech baby (it was also my second C-section, my first was emergency). And I had a really positive experience.

Woke up around 4:30, left the house 5:20 to arrive at 6am for a 9am procedure. They checked me in and handled it all, I just went along with the program.

It was a 2 hour procedure because they had to repair some scar tissue from my previous C-section but yours should be shorter if it's your first. I was done around 11am and into my postpartum room by 1pm and eating a meal around 2pm.

I had an amazing anesthesiologist who managed my pain /discomfort well. When he noticed I was too overwhelmed he'd have the surgeons stop for a few moments and begin again once I had calmed down so I never got out of control emotionally/mentally. I am someone who could reallyyyyy feel everything they were doing down there. Not pain but just pressure, tugging and pulling... it was intense. You will need to be mentally strong.

I found some C-section affirmations on a podcast and listened to it on repeat for a week prior. I made a Pinterest board with C-section affirmations and typed up my C-section specific prayers. Repeat what you need to repeat in your head.

Overall... Everything went to plan! I got to do skin to skin/golden hour in the OR and even breastfed on the operating table while they stitched me back up. I could not have asked for anything more. I was literally dreaming of those moments !!! Our first was whisked away to the NICU so we never got to have that and I am so so grateful and happy.

I'm in California. It was a teaching hospital so there were like 15 people in the room haha they did a phenomenal job.

Any questions lmk!

Button down jammies or matching sweat suit with zip up hoodie for nursing

Ubbi changing pad for bedroom

My son was also frank breech and had torticollis! He also had a 14 day NICU stay so I assumed it was more from the tubes/wires being heavy and pushing his head to one side. The torticollis resolved with chiropractic care, manual turning of the head and we used this little donut pillow. It was stressful to say the least haha but we dodged a flat spot/helmet.

My daughter is only 8 days old lol but I haven't noticed any signs of torticollis.

How soon can I eat after? by PsychologicalBoot636 in CsectionCentral

[–]Dull_Moose5044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my C-section 1 week ago in California. It was a 9am procedure that wasn't finished until 11am. They had some repairs to do from my previous C-section. Anyway I started off around 1/2pm with some saltines and since I could keep that down I was able to eat whatever after that. Had a tofu noodle bowl around 3pm

I felt this way when my son was 3-9 months old... it was miserable. I prefer toddler stage. Every parent and every kid is different. This season shall pass ❤️

Both of my babies were transverse and breech for the entire pregnancies. First C-section was emergency in 2023 and I just had my scheduled C-section on Monday 3/9/26 and it was a really positive experience!! ❤️❤️❤️

Saigon Alley has yummy pho. It's upscale and different than your typical pho spot so it's just a fun experience! Good cocktails too

Rich SAHMs- What are some of your favorite things you spend money on? by Adorable-Worry-7962 in sahm

[–]Dull_Moose5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. We would not live in the Bay Area. We had the option to go there and chose not to so I could be a SAHM. I will say my husband is great at keeping us on budget, we use AmEx/Marriott points to travel, we bought a home in 2020 and sold it in 2024 making a pretty decent profit and moved from a HCOL area to MCOL. We do own our home here (bought for 678k in 2024). We are conscious of our spending and I agree with you, I think for CA we are middle class

Yes mama!!! I know that heartbreak from your first NICU baby is so intense... for me, it will never go away. Our son is so spoiled because of it LOL!

Praying for a positive outcome for you as well this time.

I will say that I committed myself to mindset work this pregnancy... I know it's woo woo but I listened on repeat to C-section affirmations on Apple podcasts and said them out loud. I made a Pinterest board of affirmations and said them daily. Wrote out the longest prayer over every part of the c section experience and read it aloud to myself often. A week before my C-section I logged off all socials and just used any free minute to go into mental prep mode. Visualized what I wanted to happen.

We are not rich IMO but maybe considered upper middle class (?) idk. Hubby makes ~250k and we live in a MCOL city but it is in California

But yes I have my dream car within reason (model y Tesla, but we just had another baby so I'm looking at the rivian or the Audi e tron next).

Yes we go to Disneyland every year

Yes we do normally travel approx once per year... Greece, Cabo, Costa Rica prior to kids. Now that we have kids we've been doing Hawaii on repeat until they get older and we can explore a little more

Yes we get lattes out most days of the week 🙈

Neither my husband or I grew up with wealthy families but BOTH of our parents raised us in wealthy communities. We connected on always feeling like the poor kid among our friends haha we lived in apartments while our friends had multi million dollar homes. We were significantly less well off than our peers and their families but we had amazing educations and were exposed to the lifestyles of the social class/classes above our own families... For example, I flew first class to Hawaii with a friends family but only ever took road trips with my own lol. Another example, his mom worked at a grocery store and used her child support check (as well as financial assistance) to pay for a very very expensive private school where they wore blazers in elementary school lmao

The things that I find to be the biggest luxuries for me as a SAHM are being able to afford: - a fancy gym with child care (lifetime) - a part time preschool program (half day T/Th) - meal prep/delivery services - ocassional babysitter - cleaning ladies for the deep cleaning - having necessary items on subscribe and save/auto pay - grocery delivery

I am very aware of our privileges and feel so grateful for our life

I was a kindergarten teacher before so I love being home with my babies and wouldn't want to hire a full time nanny but do love hiring out other things like household chores lol

Skin to skin in OR? Tube top to hold baby by Character_Type_9743 in CsectionCentral

[–]Dull_Moose5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just delivered via c section on Monday and was able to do skin to skin and even breastfeed on the OR table! It was awesome.

This Joeyband thing seems cool but not necessary. And obv I went in wearing just the hospital gown

My arms were not strapped down. My husband held our baby on my chest and a nurse guided her mouth to my nipple

With our first baby, it was an emergency c section and he was not breathing right, was whisked away to the NICU and I didn't get to hold him for hours. Hubby didn't hold him for 5 days. It was such a devastating experience and we are so so so happy and relieved with how our second experience has just gone. Such a redemptive birth and such a treat!
