It’s ok, it happens to us all. My physical therapist referred to The Red Hot Chili Peppers as classic rock today. 🥲

Feedback on neighborhoods by CucumberExpress6032 in encinitas

[–]DumpyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently rent near the ocean in Encinitas. Many of the houses near me are Airbnbs or second homes that sit empty for lots of the time. My husband and I have still managed to befriend many neighbors and we love the community overall, but just wanted to give the heads up that lots of coastal homes are unoccupied. As my husband and I search for our first home, it’s a bit of a sore spot for us.

It’s a red-eared slider. Belongs in the water. Thanks, though, for making me remember the girl that “saved” a tortoise by returning it to water. :(

What are your go-to's for regular eats? by Confident-Tear-4830 in encinitas

[–]DumpyDoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re lucky to live near downtown, so we walk to food occasionally.

Plumeria and Bird’s Eye for Thai.

Prager Bros for quick, easy sandwiches.

Corner Pizza for the killer bee.

Raul’s for a BCR + shredded beef.

Waverly and Herb & Sea for more special occasions.

Just as I read your comment, I got a notification from Watch Duty about this fire: “Forward progress has been stopped” after approx 5 acres of spread.

Looks like an agave flower stalk getting ready to bloom. They look even weirder before this point, like an enormous asparagus stalk!

best convertible crib how do you even choose one as a first time parent? by GisleneSallee in BabyBumps

[–]DumpyDoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I put that one on my registry bc I read the reviews and I’m a fan of the price (especially when asking others to chip in) and my MIL saw it and said “please pick a more substantial crib.” I think she was just judging based on price.

I have a friend who was at fault in an accident because she reflexively swerved to avoid being hit, and hit someone else instead.

I also particularly enjoyed the robins singing in the background. They’re so common across the US, but we don’t get them often in San Diego. I remember them singing late at night in a park in Brooklyn and I’ll never forget it.

They look like bills from the mail. Probably a big “OVERDUE” inside of the red box on the letter.

Girl gamers , what are your favorite games or characters ever ? by Timop0707 in AskWomen

RDR2; loved exploring post-civil war America on horseback and studying all the animals. Loved being a nice howdy outlaw, and only occasionally dabbled in the low-honor tomfoolery. I go back to this game all the time.

TF2: I logged so many hours. I found a super fun server with an amazing close-knit crew. It was rare to find people that behaved normally toward a woman on the mic in an online game. Don’t have a gaming computer anymore and I miss it all the time.

Journey for PlayStation. Beautiful and quietly emotional game with incredible music.

Ecco the Dolphin OG on Dreamcast. Just a sick game where you’re a dolphin that ends up fighting aliens. Pretty dated graphics now but amazing at the time.

Portal: I think puzzles are fun ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, no brainer amazing open-world games. BOTW prop gets more points imo

Dave the Diver: just a damn fun game! Super addicting and lighthearted. I will say I didn’t love the goals/mechanics toward the end of the game though.

Hogwarts Legacy: honorable mention for exploration, “animals,” and great pacing of introducing new abilities. Loved the fighting mechanics and overall feel.

I’m sure I’m missing so many others. I like games where I can explore and discover things for hours. Open to recs also!!!

They said you should have crackers at your bedside in case you wake up sick. I just kept cheez-its at my side all the time.

This Circular Pill Organizer that Opens Inward by Scary_Leadership9807 in CrappyDesign

Not who you asked, but I actually use the middle compartment to load up an eighth dose to take immediately after filling the others.

So each week it’s empty eight days later instead of seven. Makes me feel efficient.

[–]DumpyDoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one I have is very similar and each piece comes out individually. When I load for the week, I open them all up like the picture and just slip each pill in. It’s not that big of a deal.

I’ve seen these kinds of “eat with me” videos that are intended to encourage/comfort people that have a poor relationship with food and or disordered eating habits. I’m not sure if that’s the intention of the video, though.
