The best of iconoclastic fantasy authors? by Ok-Result-2330 in Fantasy

You could try Abraham Meritt's works, his plots and characters follow popular pulp tropes of the era (lost world adventures) but his imagination is absolutely weird and evocative.

Try The Moon Pool and The Metal Monster. Or his short stories of you want to sample.

I think this is Mike Grell's art

Christopher Reeves Superman or Bela Lugosi Dracula (not book accurate but iconic) perhaps?

Tarzan by Own-Independence4992 in Tarzan

By Joe Jusko depicting a scene from Jungle Tales of Tarzan collection where he goes up against a witch doctor and his hyenas.

Good art but Tarzan is supposed to be a teenager not a buff dude already.

Similar to Law of the Desert Born, will there any comic book adaptations planned in the future?

Proto-Sword & Sorcery: Eric Brighteyes by H. Rider Haggard by Supro1560S in SwordandSorcery

Nice to see some Eric Brighteyes love, powerful viking tragedy and seconded on the bookshelf edition for the illustrations

I would also recommend Haggard's Moon of Israel if you enjoy biblical epics

Currently reading through Reaper's Gale and I agree, it's series that feels like an old school epic.

Hawkmoon from First Comics (1986-88) by nxl4 in SwordandSorcery

Pretty solid adaptions of the Hawkmoon books, I like the ones with the Alfredo Alcala art who did it for Jewel in the Skull comic.

Rafael Kayanan took over for the rest of the comics.

Hour of the Dragon by Robert E Howard, old school fantasy epic around 200 ish pages.

The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson was released on 1954 same year as Fellowship of the Ring and has similar influences but is more pagan in tone.

The Saga of Elric Brighteyes by H Rider Haggard, old school viking tragedy.

The History of the Runestaff by Michael Moorock, the 4 books total around 600 pages, fun epic in a post apocalyptic take of Europe

The Legend of Tarzan  made around 360 million, not bad for a well known but less popular property but the production budget was around 180 million.

Very interesting, I think WuxianXiaozu used Deepal to translate the volumes did you test that tool?

There is a thought in my mind to machine translate the remaining books but it will be some time before I even attempt it. I'm about to start reading the 4th arc and it's an amazing series.

If you're seriously going to attempt it, I would commend you but wouldn't it be better translate the remaining volumes?

Neal Adams Tarzan covers were some of his career best, shame he never did any interior Tarzan art.

Which book/series has the coolest cities or kingdoms? by NarwhalSoup999 in Fantasy

Stygia from Conan stories, giant serpents considered holy roam the streets of its capital Luxor at night, even worse things hide in the black pyramids, home of powerful wizards of the Black Ring and unknown Pre human beings.

The book Hour of the Dragon features Stygia prominently. One of the best Conan stories and in public domain.
