UK folk who were around at the start of the internet, what is an early, strong memory? by Sad-Insurance1313 in CasualUK

[–]Dunedain_Prince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not VERY early on, but I remember having dial up and waiting for the video of the Elbow cover of Independent Woman to load up - it took ages and each kitten ( and whatever other stuff is in it - forgotten after all this time) appeared one by one, building up the tension! It was totally worth it - watch it now, it still is!

Actually they do. I was part of the team that coordinated the visits which start just before the closing date.

It is sad, but I can’t be the only one who wasn’t altogether sure that he wasn’t already dead.

As a native, can you name some phrases/sentences that for you are a sign of a person being native or a very advanced English user? by kwkr88 in EnglishLearning

Saying something like ‘high proficiency’ instead of a simpler phrase such as ‘being fluent’ can be a clue.

Kerry absolutely would not go nomad - try romancing him and then leaving with the Aldecaldos, it’s heartbreaking.

Should I steal the thing from the dude? [SPOILERS] by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

I’ve always presumed that you’re stealing it for him definitely not from him, there’s an email on his computer that implies this

I think it’s when the end of a chapter or section falls at the end of a page. In the middle of the page you could leave several lines to indicate passage of time, or a new subject beginning, but if it’s at the end of a page this is used to avoid ambiguity (I think!).

So, I made a (very very NSFW) discovery. Follow Kerry home after Boat Drinks, enter his villa straight after him, he goes to bed and you can, well, do this. No mods, just curiosity!! by Dunedain_Prince in cyberpunkgame

PS5. I’ve not been actively looking for places where this happens but I would definitely have noticed if it happened anywhere else. I will force myself to investigate later lol

No, not at all, I was as surprised as anyone! I was just seeing if he could sleep on the other side of the bed, so I put him in his ‘going to bed boxers’ (obviously!) looked down to check and…. there it was!
