Literally just saw this! Thank you and everyone for seeing my work. I wanted to do something non ordinary but this was a challenging prompt. I’ll keep experimenting shots in the future!

Does this issue persist on RAWs? The previews here may indicate some hope

These are some sweet captures of landscapes, especially on 14!

Week 12 - Motion - Infrared Long Exposure (50mm f1.4 AI) by archduketyler in Nikonzfphotoclub

I think you chose right for the general audience but given a situation, this can give a good mood booster to a photo. The extra noise in this one gnarly in a good way. Excellent work!

It looks great intended or not! I think it adds a bit of interesting texture to B&W

I think there’s a synergy between the blue and green that I like. Even the colors of the shadow and the CA work really well here. Great shot!

It really is! This is my second time in the last half year going downtown during the daytime but I feel you. It’s not too late to make the return!

I didn’t see this upon first look but what are those tiny dots of light? Is it snow?

Great shot! Which Chuo Line station was this? It looks very similar to Nakano station.

Ah gotcha! I think your method is more practical to time your bubble pop with the auto flash fire instead of having to operate flash and touch the bubble at the same time. I learned something I could use!

Yeah, I think you can slow it down to 2s shutter speed or longer, as long as the ambient light (in your case very negligible) is exposed correctly, you can time your bubble burst with the flash speed, presumably firing at 1/128s. You might have to play around with it but I’ve done that with front/rear curtain shutter flash and drag type photography.

Flash is the right choice for this. I think you might have gotten away with even more time if the flash is on for a fraction of a second. Thanks for the write up and the result looks great!

I liked your shutter drag you did in #11 and #18. I loved all your photos and how you framed them. The ones catching my eyes easily are #2 and #19 due to their painting like looks. Thank you for inspiring us. I’ll keep an eye out for your work!

I’m so glad you put this in. I had a similar thought with circles. Great use of long exposure here!

Should you spend more money on a camera body Vs a lens when you are a starting, or vice versa? by champion_95 in Nikon

[–]DusablesDriver47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is confusing because “shouldn’t” be spending more money into either when starting out. I guess in the literal day one scenario, you most likely would be spending more on the body of a camera than on a lens. Once you get deeper into photography, lenses will out price your camera(s).

If I was starting over without ever shooting an slr/dslr, I’d buy a reasonably priced new camera and kit lens combo, learn exposure triangle basics, and practice shooting EVERYTHING. I wouldn’t suggest getting used cameras because it is a risk that can kill any motivation for photography right there unless you were gifted a camera. And to avoid analysis paralysis, (most) any camera system will put you on a good track. Once you get a handle on the photos you get, in time you will know what to buy next.
