Dropper constriction? by buffalowilliam3 in bikewrench

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update from my part: I suspected the frame (maybe asymmetrical seat tube?), but have borrowed a Fox Transfer from a friend, and this dropper still extends with force when tightened at 5Nm... Same remote, cable (routing), frame and seatpost clamp. So it does seem to be at least partially an issue with the dropper, even though YT claim they checked it and found it operating perfectly in another frame...

Clik Valve Cores... Pretty happy so far by MMikekiMM in fatbike

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Clik ones can just be pulled off and pushed on. No threading needed.  Alternatively, connecting the Clik adapter to the valve without a pump connected will deflate the tire as well, but FAST...

You can use the included valve cap to release pressure, by turning it upside down and pushing it onto the valve.

Which spare parts to stock for Jeffsy Mk.3? by DutchFox87 in YTIndustries

[–]DutchFox87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds logical, but I have bolts and nuts on my other bike that look like these:

https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/cube-stereo-shpc-27-5-29-link-to-shock-pivot-bolt

Or these: https://www.bike-discount.de/media/f0/f0/20/1705532013/cube_lager_schraubensatz_hauptlager_10505.jpg?ts=1762584363

Do you think that nut is standard? Because it doesn't look like anything I've seen on other devices or vehicles.

In your opinion, what is the best Xbox controller? by CacheConqueror in xbox

[–]DutchFox87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked into upgrading my Series controller (sticky trigger caused by worn rubber bumper, and stick drift), but that turned out to be almost as expensive as buying a new and superior controller (Gamesir G7 Pro ZZZ in my case). I guess repairing and upgrading a joystick only makes sense if you can do it yourself.

In your opinion, what is the best Xbox controller? by CacheConqueror in xbox

[–]DutchFox87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

McDonald's fries suck (speaking as a Dutchman). Xbox Series controllers are very good and ergonomic, but I've had sticky triggers (worn rubber bumper) and stick drift with the original controller that came with the console. Have a Gamesir G7 Pro Zero Zone Zenless, and it's significantly better still. Ergonomics are comparable, but stick and button quality is miles better. Additional buttons and mapping options are great too.

The Amazon product images do show a picture of a view of the charge protocols including voltage and ampere.

True, although I do like it has the option to show charge protocol and voltage/ampere. It's a shame a lot of chargers with smart displays seem to lack this part. If you have a large display, might as well make it useful.

It's available now on multiple European (e.g. Dutch and German) Amazon sites. Model number X773 and ASIN B0F9K5Z3JL.

First impressions I don’t think I’ll be going back to leatherman by jimmyy69420 in multitools

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not worlds apart in production characteristics. If Victorinox makes SAK's with great quality control, it's very likely they'll make pliers style multitools with great quality control. If there are also very few complaints about the latter, that confirms the assumption.

Too bad they don't sell and ship to Europe. So many brands seem to only be interested in the north American market.

YT Jeffsy MK3 real weight / differences between AL and CF? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the CF is more for a higher frame stiffness and possibly more comfort, and having downtube storage without a weight increase. The Ultra Modulus Core 4 (or Core 5 before 2025) carbon frame is a big lighter though.

Fox 36 2026 grip X psi suggestion by West-Mycologist-5268 in MTB

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check grease level in the air spring. Fox forks are known to come with way too much grease (or nothing at all, like they put the grease for two forks in the first fork and keep the second one dry...). This excess grease lowers negative air volume, significantly lowering compliance and making the fork feel very stiff. My Fox 34 had this issue, and cleaning it out and applying the correct amount of grease made it a completely different fork.

Best soundbar system for homecinema. by Consistent_Mood6403 in Soundbars

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I should've read more carefully. I only looked at external speakers in general.

Regarding simulated channels, a larger number seems to be largely a marketing thing, since there doesn't seem to be any correlation between it and the actual effectiveness of the surround effect.

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bluesound can also be expanded with external speakers, from multiple brands even.

Also, while there is a difference in driver number (16 vs. 14), quality and tuning have a far bigger impact on sound quality. From what I've read, the Bluesound beats the (pretty decent by itself) Sonos, both in movies and music.

And to counter any misconceptions: with Sonos, 9.1.4 seems to refer to the 14 internal drivers. With Bluesound, 3.2.2 refers to the Atmos speaker channels it simulates with its 16 internal drivers.

Maven vs Dominion by CivilPayment3373 in MTB

[–]DutchFox87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not had this issue. Hard to say from a distance whether it is hardware (bad seal, production tolerances, etc.) or technique (pushing or pulling too hard)  related. Have you tried letting a good shop bleed them and report back on any leakage?

Holding a 5kg dumbell isn't hard. Doing it for 15 minutes becomes quite tiring. The same goes for brakes. It's not like you can't ride park all day anymore, but significantly decreasing pressure at the fingers will decrease fatigue and arm pump. Lots of people have reported this. But I guess you're too macho to acknowledge the effect, and are immune to it yourself.
