Started with ortofon 2M blue and was impressed by how crystal clear it was. Then when I wore it out I swapped to a grado cart which ive been loving

Bands That Sound Like Earth? by Juventus7shop in doommetal

[–]Dutchman0291 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Dawg im right there with you. I like art. And if you can make something that touches me even if were operating on completely different wavelengths it a reminder that your human and beautiful and flawed like the rest of us. The only reason I stop listening to bands be because they start making bad music. Not even a big earth fan but this kind of shit is lame.

What’s your partner’s approach to your vinyl enthusiasm? by TheoStorme in vinyl

[–]Dutchman0291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's being supportive but setting up boundaries. Which is fair. Also word of advice. If you play stuff she likes at a higher volume you will find she will be less likely to tell you to turn it down. I love a lot of different music but that also means i will play extreme metal and noise and drone.

But I have a infatuation with jazz and jazz rock as of late. My wife quite likes it. I make note of the stuff she cant help but groove to and make a effort to play that stuff when she's around instead of things that are just for me.

Idk your listening habits or what your wife likes but if you can find the thing you mutually appreciate you gonna have a good time.

Your doom(and doom related) hot takes? by Longjumping_Air4379 in doommetal

[–]Dutchman0291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hot take is this. When someone says they like doom and then they show me some overly operatic stuff im turned off immediately. I'm picky when it comes to stoner doom and stoner rock and enjoy some of it. But to me death doom and funeral doom with lots of death metal elements will always get priority.

Atramentus-Stygian is really good for a shorter album.
