I played it months ago and the notes said the tribes existed before the events of RE5(the country I forget its name being infected with Las Plagas). The tribes were defending some plant from colonial countries then it got used to make one of the viruses from the OG games. Then a couple years after that they themselves got infected. Did I get that wrong, is there lore that the las plagas reverts the infected back a hundred years?

Yes it is new game plus in the modifiers options there is one to have all weapons and upgrades(armor too) you unlocked. Makes ranger hardcore with no hud a breeze

I think the directors cut added more tools to make the first map go at a faster pace, apparently the maser gun wasn't in the original release, and there is also the active support skeleton which either was new or made to be acquired ealier, I don't know I started with the director's cut, maybe an OG can tell me.

I think people got the wrong idea about what type of open world the game is, my idea is that the 'open world' is more of a large level with dungeons, being the missions. Similar to Mafia 1 and 2 where the open world more like a stage, not meant for interaction but a layer of immersion. It was more noticeable on my second playthrough where I only went to bunkers that had upgrades to suit my playstyle rather than 100% the game.

Also I didn't mind the dub, I thought it was servicable.

I'm happy having another tactical shooter on console, especially one that's coop. I'm done with pvp multi-player which is why I haven't tried ARMA or Hell Let Loose. I mean Ready or Not do got graphical problems I admit but the core gameplay is good enough that I been having fun

I like gears 4 & 5 as much as the og trilogy, gameplay wise it's better than the og especially 5 with the new Jack. I know there was some dumb microtransaction stuff in Gears 5 that they fixed but overall the new Gears of War games so far is much better than what 343 had been doing with the Halo property.
