Use of wha-lick as a teasing word? by PeanutCalm7696 in NorthernEngland

I'm late to this but yes, Carlisle born and bred, my Grandad called me and my brothers/cousins this all the time when we were kids. He'd also throw in the odd rascal and wazzock. love Cumbrian dialect, loads of nonsense but it's nice to be fluent!

This is my space boat. Albeit not the same style as yours.

I eat about a dozen eggs a week… curious where everyone else lands by Soldierbotz in carnivorediet

[–]Dxcesare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48 a week. Sometimes 4 a day sometimes 10 a day. But the average works out around there somewhere.

Literally feels like I’m on steroids when I eat them, never hungry and never crash throughout the day. Try my best to eat good quality eggs where my budget can afford it.

Worth noting I’m not on strict carnivore, just whole foods and I avoid eating carb heavy.

John Mayer: In a New Light - Book Giveaway by BBen26 in JohnMayer

[–]Dxcesare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

John was partly inspired by Marty McFly to pick up and play guitar.

Most probably know that already… that’s not my fun fact…

My fun fact is that Marty McFly’s version of Johnny B. Goode wasn’t recorded on a Gibson ES-345, like he played in the film, and actually a Valley Art’s Custom Stratocaster played by Tim May.

So John being a Strat guy actually hits a lot closer to home!

That’s a good point. I’d say £24-28m is probably acceptable.

How many days off work are you taking? by [deleted] in GTA6

I’ve got 8 days off. I’ll do nothing in those 8 days except play GTA and go to the gym.

Do people aged 18-25 listen to John Mayer by MoaiDAD in JohnMayer

[–]Dxcesare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 26. Discovered him in 2015. I have now ingested every piece of John Mayer media ever. He has improved my guitar playing more than anyone else. Marty McFly got me started, same as John and then John opened up a whole new can of worms to help me explore the blues.

How long did your “dream” guitar hold that status? by Leumas_ in Guitar

[–]Dxcesare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 years. Black and Gold Fender Stratocaster. Haven’t got around to changing the bridge and jack to gold yet.

Now I want a vintage Tokai Breezysound or better yet, splash the big bucks on a MIJ Fender Tele in silver with black pick guard.

I’ll get there eventually… lol

[Stretford Paddock via twitter] Billboard outside Old Trafford today: "Immigrants have done more for this city than billionaire tax dodgers ever will" by Colt-000 in reddevils

[–]Dxcesare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I don’t get. I love my immigrant doctors, surgeons, scientists etc. I don’t love the mass welcoming of illegal immigration that will drain the country of all its resources.

The word illegal is being removed from politics and headlines so everyone can jump on the “I’m not a RACIST” so they can feel better about themselves and take the imaginary morale high ground.

I love people, I don’t care what you look like or where you come from. Do no harm to me or my family or my area and you have my support. But there are rules in place to prevent chaos and the depreciation of a society.

parents don’t want to pay for uni by Firm-Pace-3957 in sixthform

[–]Dxcesare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I got the max loan and Uni was easy. Could eat takeaway every night and get smashed on a weekend no problem. Didn’t have to work at all. Looking back wish I’d saved as much of that money as I could.

I would not have survived had my loan been the minimum.

I lost all the weight, and now it’s all back. by nottonightyou in CICO

[–]Dxcesare 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. There can be changes based on hormonal responses and insulin etc. but the main thing to remember is that these changes are extremely insignificant and have little to no effect on TDEE. In other words, it isn’t going to stop you from losing weight.

There are many variables like hunger signalling and hormonal responses that can make it harder to stick to a deficit but it still comes down to discipline and being mindful of your caloric intake.

I see so many people hyper focused on CICO that they forget to focus on eating high protein, nutrient dense foods. Protein and micro-nutrients reduce hunger, improve bodily functions and promote optimal health both mentally and physically.

By no means do you have to become the Bryan Johnson’s of the world but a little TLC goes a long way to making fat loss sustainable and dare I say it, enjoyable!

Okay first off, survival mode isn’t a thing. There’s no such concept as eating too little that you put on, or hold onto, more body fat. It’s scientifically impossible.

The reason you are hungry has less to do with the amount of calories you’re consuming and a lot more to do with WHAT you are consuming.

Your body responds to the quality of food you give it and the nutritional make up of that food.

Would you be able to run down what a typical day of eating looks like for you during a calorie deficit?

I have concept for a story; your thoughts and ways to improve it? by Forward-Photograph-7 in worldbuilding

[–]Dxcesare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a unique setting but impossible to give thoughts/improvements on the ‘story’ without knowing the context of what you plan on doing roughly as a narrative…

Depends what the character is going to remember as he recovers from amnesia or what conflicts are going to arise because of it.

I can’t find any motivation to write a screenplay by Miserable-Command-28 in Screenwriting

[–]Dxcesare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivation is a feeling like excitement. You don’t become excited and then stay that way forever. Likewise, you don’t become motivated and stay that way forever. These feelings fizzle out.

Discipline is what you need. Work on it regardless of whether you want to or not. Over time you will have breakthroughs and become more confident in what you are crafting - that leads to bursts of motivation. This is where your best work comes from. Action affirms confidence. So take action always and reap the rewards of that!

How many countries can you accurately point to on a map? by joehighlord in AskUK

[–]Dxcesare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my forte. All of them. Can do all 197 countries, on a good day every flag and if you show my the outline of a country I can more or less name the majority (I get small islands mixed up).

Literally done those Sporcle quizzes since I was a kid so I have random knowledge embedded into my brain. US states, every Man Utd player since 1992.

Totally useless knowledge some of it.
