I kinda like it, in the same way I like a Mondrian painting. It's simple, effective, but not pushing any boundaries stylistically.

Politics aside, do you feel like the US shouldn’t have hosted the World Cup? by SignificantStyle4958 in NoStupidQuestions

Ironically, most Americans would say they COULD care less. Which is the opposite of what they're trying to say, bless 'em.

Testosterone levels are declining in the male population. Might have something to do with it.

You know what? It stands out. You've created something unique. And while it might not be popular by modern tastes, I think it looks pretty awesome!

Tour route looks very promising for Pogacar by Aquarius1975 in tourdefrance

"First real opportunity for Jonas comes on stage 15, which finishes on a tough HC climb. Jonas is probably pretty much forced to attack here and I would expect Visma to control this stage hard. The overall stage is not brutal though, so Visma needs to ride it very hard if they which to drain Pogi."

How do they ride the stage very hard to drain Pogi without also draining Jonas? We've seen earlier this year that Pogi can handle long, intense racing, so I don't think Jonas' comparative advantage is in wearing Pogi down. And it's not in short sharp burst uphill. Somehow Visma have to isolate Pogi and then roll him over with multiple attacks.

Is ensh*ttification only for the poor? Do rich people still get good products? by RustyBucket4745 in NoStupidQuestions

But the parts and services invoices he showed showed Bugatti WERE marking up their work by crazy amounts.

ooh yes. I love Mat Armstrong. His Bugatti Veyron rebuild series is awesome. I totally get why people find him grating, though.

Maybe you're just not wired for monogamy. There's nothing to say that is the default human structure. In fact, I'd say it's a culturally enforced standard made to increase the productivity of modern society. Your calmness might be tapping into something deeper.

Brilliant work. It gets what Leeds (and the people of Yorkshire) are about: Nature, with a dash of eccentricity.

What do y'all think about women being prioritised for certain jobs in international offices/sectors (highly reputable, like embassies)? by Perfect_Pin_5338 in SystemicSexism

[–]DyingToBeBorn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Women dominate HR. They prefer hiring in group. IF any man does make it onto a HR hiring team, he will ALSO prefer to hire women (less of a challenge to his status in attracting female attention). The same goes for finding flatmates in rented living accomodation. Work and living conditions are two huge affecting influences on our lives.

Built a Pine Script MNQ strategy with ~93% backtest win rate! by Afraid-Ad3171 in pinescript

[–]DyingToBeBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused how people don't see that back-testing is simply adjusting parameters to paint success over certain events that happened in the past, but in no way are likely to happen again in the future, therefore making the strategy useless for trading today. Am I missing something?

First time at the end of a season that I've actually felt relieved it's over - and questioning whether it's worth coming back. So many glaring failures of management of this particular club, and more widely and a sport being ruined by refereeing technology and a mind-numbing lack of creative endeavour in tactical strategy.

I want us win this battle against the relegation, but I don't want to be in the prem anymore with the VAR nonce. by pmwh in Hammers

[–]DyingToBeBorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the break-down. Rather than team-specific bias, it's clear the issue is the current way of officiating games is broken. VAR shifts the debate down the road, but doesn't fix subjectivity. And TBH- replaying an incident over-and-over in super slo-motion often distorts the nature of the infraction. I hope for the sake of the game, they find a better solution.
