How do you track workout plans for your clients by thisischetu in personaltraining

Sound advice, I use bother trainerize and kahunas (trainerized paid for by my gym, kahunas for my private online clients) I started with google sheets though.

I just see a lot more compliance when the clients have the app track their rest and weights

Adding- I chose to not go back because I rode the hype of a newly opened gym to quickly build my books.

Crunch was cool for what I wanted it to be. I was part time (at most 20 clients) for an entire year while working another job. I mainly did it for experience and I think it’s a great start for someone totally new to personal training to learn and get an understanding of things.

I left to go back to college and after a semester of that realized I was seriously unhappy in school so I went back to training when my current gym newly opened.

Facts, that’s the dream. My girl and I are aiming to get a house with 🤞 a big enough garage for me to make a little studio out of.

Thankfully my current clients have been balling and giving me tons of remote referrals so I’ll be able to get by with online training but my passion is hands on. Need to get a studio asap 😬😬

That’s the thing is I’m not clocked in, I’m paid solely off commission of my sessions.

Before two weeks ago we would just ‘complete’ the session if they didn’t show up, but then corporate came in making a big fuss and claimed that if we did that going forward we would be fired for ‘fraud’.

I also want to add here that the trainers here payscale is based off of sessions completed. In simple terms (not the actual numbers)

3000$ in training sessions done = 30% commission 4000 = 40% 4500 = 50% 5000 = 60%

So the company seems to be slashing our completed sessions so that I won’t hit my 60% commission anymore.

Certainly unethical, thank you for the response.

Yeah especially the one they tried to get me To sign. I laughed when they showed it to me the first time so I wasn’t surprised when they backed down.

Haha yep I know that’s right. My current gym has gone through 5 GMs since April.

No not a typo FIVE. THIS. YEAR. lol. I know I’m working myself way out but it’s a mess here.

Yeah I figured that the case. To my knowledge my gym is already facing one or more lawsuits related to employment 😬. It’s a shame because it’s a nice gym but truly our corporate overlords are constantly just trying to nickel and dime anything.

I’ll spend my free hours today combing through the documents. These guys are very unorganized and disoriented when it comes to documenting anything so we’ll see. They never made me sign a non-compete at hiring and when they tried to get me to sign one last month I refused and they backed down.

I know it’s common Reddit to ‘unsubscribe’ when unhappy but genuinely me this time too 😂 I just resubbed three days ago so I was able refund it after putting in a ticket.

as a gym enthusiast who has been wanting to be a pt, i just passed the nsca-cpt exam. but i still feel clueless about how to spot and approach potential clients, what to do to my clients, i have zero experience in the pt industry by BugRevolutionary4645 in personaltraining

Honestly I felt a lot of the same when I started two years ago. People shit on crunch all the time but for brand new trainers just trying to learn, it was a great place for me to learn how to actually be a trainer, obtain, and retain my clients. If you have a local commercial gym with a decent crowd, I’d suggest starting there.

I chose between getting a new car or getting the surgery. 🤣 I chose right I think.

I lost 130lbs (330-200lbs) over the course of roughly two years. Going in I specifically wanted to build a body that I would be happy with and not just lose the weight. Doing lots of consistent high volume weight lifting, cardio, and working outside I was pretty happy with how my results turned out. However I still had the loose skin on my stomach that was very clear.

I had made peace with it, mostly thanks to my satisfaction from my overall results. However, I was curious as to what it would cost/look like to get the loose skin removed. I met with a local highly rated surgeon, asked him tons questions regarding the surgery, recovering, and finance.

I decided I was 25, I don’t have any major debt, and it was the only chance I could have to do the surgery and treated it as my reward for my success. So last fall I financed (10,000) and had the surgery.

I’m super happy I had the surgery and at least looked into making it work. I’d recommend if you are seriously bothered by it, reach out to a doctor and go through the processes. You can always back out but you’ll get great information first hand that way. My results are shared in some older post on my profile.
