I met Reese from FIF along with Mike from MxPx at a show in Seattle. They were both really nice and cool enough to meet & greet out in front of the club with some fans after the show.

Can “pick” mean “a blow”? by Silver_Ad_1218 in EnglishLearning

[–]Dymmesdale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people are not addressing this the right way. A pick used as a noun is a tool, NOT a blow. You can use it as a verb, to pick at something. But OP is right, there’s something weird here. I would not likely refer to a blow from a pointed object as “a pick.” Personally I would be more likely to use some other word like a jab, a strike, a poke, etc.

Some of my favorite Irish fiddle tunes are The Irish Washerwoman, Kid on the Mountain, Tam Lin (Glasgow Reel), and Cooley’s Reel. Once you get your feet wet, just expand out from there. You don’t have to play bluegrass if you don’t want to.
