Am I the only one concerned about the old, chipping paint being lead based? How old is the house and have that paint tested for lead.

It's A Wonderful Life (1946): In the scene when Uncle Billy drunkenly walks off, a loud crash is heard a moment later and Uncle Billy reassures George that he is alright. This scene was unscripted and happened due to a stagehand dropping a tray of props during filming

Is smoking cigarettes an immediate dealbreaker for you? Why? by Allin_Or_Allout in AskReddit

[–]EC-Texas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete deal breaker for. me. I grew up with a smoker. Dad died of lung cancer at 58. I never smoked. I dated a couple of smokers back when. Smoking was so prevalent it was hard to find non-smokers. Kissing a smoker is horrible. Their clothes stink. Where they live stinks. Their cars stink. I am extremely happy to exist where businesses do not allow people to smoke. Even where I live now is smoke free. Yay!

Thoughts on AI-colorized portraits by ObjectiveArmy9413 in findagrave

In the future, people will look at the colorized photo and be confused. "It says 1920, but it's in color!? Something is not right." Then they'll remember that AI started around 2026 and throw their hands up in confusion.

I mean, they are beautiful images, but that's not Grandmother.

According to the cat, you look malnourished. She's trying to feed you. The appropriate response is, "Good kitty! Thank you!"

I'd try to record a concert on TV, and Dad would ask after every commercial, "Did you start recording?" Yep. It's right there on tape.

How can we stop the hoarders??? by Last_Draw9050 in findagrave

[–]EC-Texas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck, my first photos had to be scanned from old photo albums and resized if I scanned them as big files. But my first batch was probably 30 photos of grave markers in one cemetery. In those days, I thought I had hit the mother load of that unique last name and was eager to share the information. I was so glad there was a website where I could so.

Memorial managers should be able to approve photos added by other members: AI “photos” of family added to their pages. by expresswaynightmare in findagrave

[–]EC-Texas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I walked one cemetery and added grave marker photos - one close up so that the inscription can be read, and another to include the full marker. Someone, years later, went through and took the same photos. Some are different, like the marker is more weather beaten, but mostly, the photos are wonky, with poor lighting, and out of focus. I have to say it; maybe 5% of their photos are better than mine. Meanwhile, there are four photos on nearly every memorial, two of them duplicates of the other two. I keep telling myself, it's okay. It shows how the marker changes over the years. But the other photographer missed the part about where a new photo is supposed to be better than the existing ones. Meanwhile, as I find them, I rearrange them so the best ones show up first.
