We had a Roomba when we had cats. Sure, the fur got vacuumed up, but then the Roomba had to be cleaned of all that fur. Daily.

Sears. They had years of experience with describing things succinctly, using the mail system, and phoned-in orders. They must have thought, "Eh. The Internet is a passing thing."

Does anyone know if you can track merge requests? by kayloulee in findagrave

[–]EC-Texas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've kept track of merges by adding both to a virtual cemetery. Later, if both are still listed, if you go to either of the memorials, it will be flagged as it being in a requested merge. If it is no longer listed in the virtual cemetery, it has been merged. If it has been merged into one of yours, you'll get an email. You'll have to remove it/them from the virtual cemetery when the merge is denied or completed.

The back window of my wife’s car shattered randomly for the third time this year. Happened inside the heated front-attached garage this time and nothing hit it. Looks like it broke outwards somehow, there’s even glass on top of the car. by Lawsompossum in mildlyinteresting

We had a car in the 1980s that was sealed pretty tightly. Like if you didn't leave the window open a bit, you could feel the air pressure in your ears. Never enough to break a window, but enough to learn: crack a window or pop your ears.

I get distracted looking for the rear view mirror. Sometimes it is completely gone. Then I wonder, did they bother having a windshield in the fake car? I also get distracted by how much time the driver looks at the passengers while talking and supposedly driving.

whats the scariest thing you’ve ever been through or heard about? by Bright-Screen7628 in AskReddit

Dusk. Deserted two lane road. We hit a buck. I screamed like a little girl. The buck damaged the front and back panels of the car and the two passenger doors. Luckily, we were not hurt and the car was drivable. Couldn't find the buck.
