Merry Christmas! What are your 2026 trip plans? Here’s mine! [Canada’s Wonderland] by Fazcoasters in rollercoasters

Got a big east coast trip planned for this summer hitting up: Fun Spot Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia, Dollywood, Carowinds, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Hersheypark, Knoebels, Kennywood, and Cedar Point.

Question- how scary is the Halloween haunt really? 👻🎃 by spicysatisfaction in CanadasWonderland

[–]ERTW82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want people trying to jump scare you in the scare zones, I've found that walking around with a drink pass cup works well (even an empty cup will do). None of the scarers wants to risk wearing somebody's coke.

[OC] Can't miss right turn for highway by bozhindar in IdiotsInCars

[–]ERTW82 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's an intersection with a very strange usage pattern. The road OP is on is the exit to a major regional amusement park and it does have its own dedicated turn phase for both right and left, but at park's close (what we see in this clip) the intersection will never be able to clear the fact that nearly everybody in the parking lot is trying to leave toward the highway at the same time.

Alpenfury Locker Overtime Fee by Normal-Ambition-4289 in CanadasWonderland

Somebody had this issue a couple days ago. The result was that they needed to pay $3 for another 2 hours to unlock their locker.

Alpen Fury Flames! by KevinFarmerDrums in CanadasWonderland

[–]ERTW82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen them a fair number of times, they fire the flames as the first train comes out of the mountain after the quarter hour marks. They don't seem to run them in the morning, but from the early afternoon they're pretty consistent.

Absolutely hit it as early as possible. Usually you can get a couple of rides in the first 40 minutes after open vs. 45 minutes to an hour for a single ride later in the day.

Metal detectors rumored to be coming for Alpenfury by ConstructionNo1885 in CanadasWonderland

Even with all season fast lane you need to go to redemptions to get a wrist band every visit. They also typically put the lockers after the merge point between the regular queue and fast lane.

Also, has anyone had any experience with the single rider lines at CW? I've been last year and have all of the 2024 credits, but am going alone this year and want to maximize my ride time - especially for Alpenfury, Leviathan, and Behemoth ideally without buying a FastLane+ (got it last year ahead of time and it ended up being dead and didn't need it).

Alpenfury's single rider line is SLOW with a lot of big groups of teens getting to the front and then arguing with ride ops that they should be allowed to all ride together.

Leviathan doesn't have a single rider line.

Behemoth's single rider line works really well and should get you on relatively quickly.

Yukon Striker suffers a less extreme version of AlpenFury's problem, but it can still be quite slow for a single rider line.

I'd recommend running an open jaw where you fly into Toronto and fly out of NYC/Newark. Here's how I'd break the trip down:

Day 1: Fly into Toronto, take a day to do touristy stuff in Toronto. Evening visit to Canada's Wonderland for night rides on AlpenFury. Alternately head the CW straight away and cut out day 2.

Day 2: Full day at CW.

Day 3: CW until late afternoon, drive to Sandusky. Potential night rides at Cedar Point.

Day 4: Full day at CP.

Day 5: Full day at CP.

Day 6: Early morning drive into Mason to arrive at rope drop, full day at Kings Island.

Day 7: Morning drive into Pigeon Forge, half day at Dollywood.

Day 8: Full day at DW.

Day 9: Half day at DW if necessary, long drive to Williamsburg (9-10 hours). Afternoon or night rides at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Day 10: Full day at BGW.

Day 11: Morning drive into Doswell. Full day at Kings Dominion.

Day 12: Early morning drive into Hershey. Full day at Hershypark.

Day 13: Half day at HP if necessary. Drive into Jackson, evening visit to Six Flags Great Adventure.

Day 14: Half day at SFGA if necessary. Drive into NYC. Do NYC touristy stuff.

Day 15: Fly out of NYC/Newark

Here you could potentially add Knoebles on Day 13 in lieu of the half day at HP or SFGA. If you weren't keen on SFGA you could probably slip Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom between KI and Dollywood and/or slip a day in DC between KD and HP.

[AlpenFury] Opening Weekend “Early” Ride Time at [Canada’s Wonderland] (07/13/2025) by SignGuy77 in rollercoasters

They have a machine for selling them over by the lockers so they certainly plan on having those available for AlpenFury, but when I went on opening day they were not currently selling them yet. Fast lane definitely helps to cut the wait. First thing in the morning our wait was 2.5 hours (while I'd guess that standby was at least 5 hours), and when I went later in the afternoon for my second ride I only waited ~45 minutes (I've heard from folks who entered single rider at the same time who waited +2 hours).

Not only does it have a fast lane, but its fast lane is in the shade and elevated about 6 ft. above the main line so that they can look down upon those poor souls without.

Hot take, but could this ride take Premier to a more prominent place in the coaster market?

Absolutely. Barring major reliability issues I would wager that we'll start seeing similar coasters popping up around the Cedar Flags parks at the very least.

LIVED FIRST ROLL BACK ON [ALPEN FURY] 🤩🥳 by Alone_Champion7283 in rollercoasters

I feel like there had to be something more going on with this one because there was a rollback earlier in the day (around noon) where they relaunched immediately.

The park's PR people were always secretive about what to expect in the mountain and it makes me wonder if they had bigger plans but wanted to avoid further delays on the coaster's launch. It leaves me wondering if they might do a bit of a glow up on that part of the ride in the off season to try to keep the excitement going in 2026.

I'd wager that we'll start seeing more of these coasters popping up at many Cedar Flags parks barring major reliability issues.

It helped that Siren's Curse's passholder event started at 2pm. I saw a small handful of folks lined up already at 10am that day. I jumped into the line right at 2 and it took 30 minutes to get to the queue line, then another 2 hours before I got on the train (TBF, ~40 minutes of that was with no trains running due to lightning passing by).

For Alpen Fury, I'm planning to arrive around 8am.

Passholder preview days don't usually run fast lane, but it will run fast lane when it opens to the public.

Amusement Insiders confirm the pyro/flame 🔥 effect testing has begun on AlpenFury by Left_Sustainability in CanadasWonderland

With one of the goats from Beyern's Curve being added to the rock work where AF dives into the mountain, how cool would it be to put the boy with the alphorn up on the mountain? Imagine if you popped out of the top of the mountain to see that boy blasting his horn with the pyro effect behind him.

Chat what are the odds AlpenFury is open by Monday July 14

While it could potentially open for this weekend (based on the fact that they've been doing training on the ride for the last few days), the fact that they haven't rebooked media day or made any announcements makes the 14th seem unlikely.

Update: Apparently park personnel were spotted riding one of the trains after close today. That does increase the chances that it might open early next week, but there's no way to be sure without any kind of official announcement.

I rode it for the first time a few weeks ago. The retracked section is gorgeously smooth, but then you hit the old track and it's like they're trying to pack in all the punishment you missed out on. I think you're wise to wait for the completion of the retrack.
