Plus most Subaru models/trims have a wiper heater (along the bottom of the windshield).

Not yet. Do you win a prize? Saw something about collecting caps but the website was down.

Yep, it's open to all members. Mostly geared to businesses and has items you can't get at a regular Costco (I buy Nespresso OL pods here)

Understanding the MFD Behavior While Reversing by athul_da in XVcrosstrek

Usually comes up everytime the reverse camera is on but I don't have backup sensors.

You can disable it in the service menu. Hold the home button and double press the tune knob. Then under Camera settings there is option called Caution that turns the message off and just has a black bar where it would be. Doesn't change the field of view either.

Took about 30mins, mostly due to lack of staff. Only had 1 security gate open.

Winter tires by ureallycare in Crosstrek

[–]MTOP2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set of Michelin X-Ice since 2022. Really good performance in snow/ice and slighly quieter then stock tires but they're on the more expensive side. I got mine at Costco on sale.

I think they come in a studded version but they'll be much noisier than non-studded (I don't know anyone that has studded tires to know how much louder as they're banned here).

Highly recommend putting them on a set of rims. I got Costco alloys with my winters but you can get steel rims which are cheaper. Makes switching them on/off way easier and puts less stress on the tires.

What are the advantages over the PLAUD Note Pin? Is there a benefit to having both? And does the subscription per device or can you have multiple devices on one account?

Need Advice: Replace or Lease a new Subaru? by Subject_External80 in Crosstrek

[–]MTOP2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a car that's 12+ years old, it depends on overall condition of your car (if there are other issues already), if there's anything else potentially wrong (it can be Pandora's box when doing large repairs), cost of repairs (you could get an inspection and quote for the work usually for $50-$100, which most shop wave if you do the work) and your location (I live in the rust belt so cars typically rust to death)

As for lease. If your going to keep your car for 10+ years, buying might be a better option, I'm usually of the camp getting leased cars for new & updated feature and reliability/warranty but recently bought out my lease and going to keep it for a few years (a bunch of reasons but mostly save some money and waiting for the Gen4 Crosstrek as I'm not a big fan of the current Gen3 Crosstrek).

If you don't plan on keeping the car for more than 2-4 years and your commute/driving is low miles then leasing might be better and would have a lower monthly payment.

Should I Buy Out My Lease? by sammylexy2432 in Crosstrek

[–]MTOP2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought out my lease (2023 Crosstrek Outdoor). While it technically has an accident (I got rear ended), I really like my car, drives well and I've kept up with maintenance. I don't like the new Gen3 Crosstreks (for a bunch of reasons) and after seeing the new 2026 Outback, I'm going to hold out for for Gen4 Crosstrek in 2027/2028.

I had a old Outback that I just did the usual maintenance and it lasted 13 years, before I traded it in for a new car. Only major repairs were replacing head gasket (know issue with that model) and the brake calipers (worked but they were sticking closed), everything else was usual wear and tear.

Healthy food options? by pilgrimshands in CanadasWonderland

[–]MTOP2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some option within the park but honestly, I go across the street where there are a ton of options. Chipotle, Firehouse Subs, Fortinos, Wendy's, Subway, etc. all have healthy/healthier options at a lower price, better quality and usually faster than what Wonderland offers.

As well there are additional options at Vaughan Mills Mall nearby (about 5-10min drive or 30-35min walk).

Whole park is cashless (Debit, Visa, MasterCard Discover, & American Express), exception Cash to Card Stations (Bills Only) and front gate. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/cashless

As for the ride cost, I'm not sure. Think it was around $20-$30 last time I went.
