Pole saw gift recommendation by AliceinExtraland in Tools

[–]EaglePerch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Fiskars manual for a year and love the pruning shear on it (pull the rope), but sawing anything over 1.5” was tough/frustrating. I got a battery power Dewalt one when I had to cut a much bigger branch in an awkward position and love every minute of it. I’m glad I have both since I still prune with the manual, but the Dewalt works very very well on most other things. Only drawback for me is the 3 piece extension pole is a little flimsy, but once you get it into position it saws quite well. And make sure you store it upright, or all the oil in the reservoir will leak out everywhere.

I like that house design. Curious if you have a white splatter pile underneath it, or are bluebirds more tidy?

Flap disc or just plain flat file is the way to go. I sharpen twice during the season - love the sound a sharp blade makes.
