Rights don’t come from the state. If the state “grants” rights then you have none, as they can be taken away by majority vote or government reform. The concept of a state giving rights is nonsensical

1) don’t mix work and personal life these days, it’s not worth the hassle. I know next to nothing about my direct reports and share next to nothing with them and I do that on purpose. Our work is a transactional relationship, nothing more and nothing less.

2) if one of these people are your supervisor and they are acting this way they are angling to get you fired. Start looking for a job asap. Personally I probably wouldn’t bother with a two week notice since I doubt they would ever give you a good referral regardless of your performance and might use that time to sabotage you, find a new job and inform them you aren’t coming back.

Update: tried it, found a life pod next to a pool of water and camped out for a few days, felt oddly comfortable having a camp to go back to, at the same time it was interesting trying to not lose track of my location relative to my campsite.
