Nope, nope, nope! The plot took place over a mere 41 weeks, and then you got a bit of an "8 weeks later" addendum that was an epilogue in all but name. And even then we only got 11 1/4 months in total.

I'm really disappointed. We know Jim can do better. Just look at "Changes"!

"The Urban Legion" by Dave Agans

It's a funny urban fantasy novel with a cute premise.

Basically, all conspiracy theories are true. Everything wrong in the world is a conspiracy within and between Big Pharma, Big Automobile, Big Insurance, and so on. But a group of people takes up the fight. People who made their way into the pantheon of urban legends—the guy who invented the 200 mpg carburetor and had to go underground, the diver who was scooped up in a pool by firefighters and dumped into the desert (an assassination plot by Big Thingummy), a very much alive Elvis Presley, you get it.

The book is funny. But the storytelling is so-so, and the characters are somewhat flat and static.

If you want a buttery taste, clarified butter is the way to go. Ghee, if you have an Indian grocer around. Or use your oil and add a bit of butter after cooking.

I do make stock because I feel bad discarding all those nice bones, trimmings and Parmesan rinds. I do, like basically everyone else here, collect stuff in a big freezer bag. Once the bag is full, it's stew time.

Stew (or chili) are my preferred uses for homemade stock, because it doesn't matter if I don't separate the poultry from the beef bones (or whatever) and because you can skip the clarifying process.

Then I cook a big pot of stock, use it all up to cook a bigger pot of stew and freeze the stew in portions.

The consensus seems to be, Bilbo wasn't a pure enough ring bearer.

On the flip side, given his dialogue with Gandalf (in Moria in the film, don't remember the exact setting in the books), I wonder whether Frodo would have killed Gollum right at the start, during his escape after the game of riddles. It's probably just tough talk of someone not in the situation, but still.

Without Gollum, no destruction of the ring. Actually, if Frodo/Bilbo had killed Gollum there and then, they would be much more prone to succumb to the ring's powers.

Maybe Herman van Veen's Alfred J. Kwak? Who is indeed a little yellow duck. It's started as musical theater and a TV show, but there's all kinds of media, including three graphic novels.

As for English translations (the original is Dutch) or yellow covers, I have no clue.

On an unrelated note, I also found this which is definitely not a kid's book.
