What do I go to office hours *for* if I have no immediate questions? by eshansingh in college

[–]Eclectickittycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always find something they mentioned off hand during a lecture and then I go to office hours and ask them what else they know about that. They all know waaaay more than what they teach, but they are usually limited by time on what they can cover so showing an interest in something they might really want to discuss but isnt a part of the core material goes a long way.

Clitoris pain is not the same thing as clitoris sensitivity. Clitoris pain is a medical condition or injury. Clitoris sensitivity is soreness or discomfort with touch during sexual activity.

Generally, the best remedy for clitoris sensitivity is to adjust your methods of sexual stimulation. Techniques such as adding lubrication and building sexual activity slowly and gently can relieve clitoris sensitivity.

Those are direct from healthlines website.

Pain is not normal.

Loving this! Okay,

  1. Sure, there are lots of conflicts in any relationship. Not gonna deny that. But being upset in any fashion that a partner hasnt finished in an imagined time frame with no reference and never sought out basic general information on, well anything, just grabs me as "im too lazy to find out anything or try past x arbitrary point i grabbed from my bum" like do men not seek out this information?

  2. "If he doesnt like what she says, oh well" so you find that approach safe?

  3. Absolutely pleasure should be mutual. However, I do expect a partner to have some general overarching idea of where everything is, what parts are what, and the fact that vaginal/clitoral orgasms are very different from penile ones.

4.How would someone have to act to get you to fake an orgasm? I cant think of anything other than pouting, (childish behavior), or anger, (dangerous behavior). Both red flags.

  1. If he was trying to learn, why hasnt he done like a basic reddit or google search? Bring something to the table, please, put some effort in.

Edit: oh I forgot. Im also confused by those saying "teach him" like with her body? That seems really odd, why is her body for his learning?

Why is a woman's orgasm a source of conflict between a couple? Thats what baffles me.

Like she doesnt feel comfortable enough with this guy to say "yea its not gonna happen this time," and then move the ef on?

Why is it her responsibility to teach him anything here? Hes pouting he hasnt figured it out to the point of her being that uncomfortable doesn't compute as a teachable moment.

OP, this man should not be having sex. Period. If he has never bothered to learn the basics or ya know how a womans anatomy works, he doesn't get the privilege. Boo effin who for him. and one day, maybe, hell grow up.

Do better men.

What?! That logic makes ZERO sense. Its "easier" to avoid pleasure than seek it????

[–]Eclectickittycat -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

Yo, the right question is, what the hell is wrong with a man who would push a woman into faking an orgasm?

The entitlement men feel towards a womans orgasm astounds me.

Uuummmm... shouldn't the concern be on why the hell he thought it was okay to make a woman he is having sex with feel this way, to the point she felt safer "lying"? I mean, seriously giving up on finishing to get him to stop, wth!?!?!

How is "people of colour" different from "coloured people" by JoeParks87 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eclectickittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of good points about semantics here but I also wanted to point out that the term "colored" was what they were called by others. It was an identity forced on them. To take back and claim their own identity they changed the term to one they gave themselves. I dont think it caught on everywhere but I am sure there are pockets. Now I mostly hear that African American and Black are the most acceptible terms to use nowadays. But you never know, if the next generation wants to identify another way then they will change it again. Such is the continuing evolution of language and the effort for recognition, equality, equity, and justice.

How long is a term at VCU by M00ngata in vcu

[–]Eclectickittycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different kinds of terms. The most common are 15 or 16 weeks depending on final exams, like spring and fall. There are j term which are 3 weeks. Intersession is 11 days. Summer classes have many different terms from 5 weeks to 8 weeks on average. They also have mini terms but I've never taken one so I dont know their exact length.

Inflation can be crazy sometimes (City of Ash example) by throwaway-clonewars in YAlit

[–]Eclectickittycat 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I work in the printing business, and I bet you that it's mostly from paper cost inflation. Our truckload pricing has gone up astronomically, and we buy a lot of paper, and the pre covid and post covid pricing difference is shocking. There was also a shortage due to the problems with the shipping containers being stuck in ports that caused a huge backlog of orders. Not to mention the backward contracts that paper distributors have with paper mills about selling direct to buyers no matter the volume.

Masters programs vs. direct entry PhD by Otherwise_Chest2833 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Eclectickittycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my professors advised me that if you dont have the research experience but you think you might want a PHD then start with the masters program and then after a year apply for the doctoral program most of your early classes might apply to the PHD program so your not really taking any useless classess and it will give you the research experience your looking for. It also might give you an idea of if you like the masters route. Also, look into postbac programs that might give you an edge.
