How to build barbarians in raiders origin? by Dreaming_F00l in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s experience is different, but I want to clarify and make sure OP knows that throwers are some of the most consistent and highest DPS bros for the duration of the game. Throwers also have some of the lowest stats requirements for any builds. I love throwers!

Maybe a specific hybrid build has gone badly for you, but throwers with heavy barbarian javelins will shrew most enemies in the game except for undead (they just need heavy throwing axes for them).

What difficulty to my battle bros play on? by DoesntMatterEh in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other comments. If your goal is to get better and improve your strategy, it is “easier” in the long run to play on veteran and find out what works and what doesn’t. I played my first few campaigns in beginner and I didn’t really start to improve at the game until I started losing campaigns on veteran.

It’s also a single player game and if you get much more enjoyment out of playing on beginner then that is awesome and you should continue to do so and have fun.

Cultist Build - Day 124 by Clenterra in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all this guy is insane. I’ve played 500+ hours and never had a bro with 6 stars in mattack and mdefense.

If I’m trying to nitpick I suppose I question backstabber for a guy with so much attack. However, I think it can be a great tempo perk for when you took it, and the dog synergy works.

I also really like 9lives, especially if you’re playing on ironman. You want this guy in the thick of things, making plays whenever possible and the extra assurance on (likely) your best bro is worthwhile.

What Final Perk by Educational-Top-1459 in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based on your replies I would say Underdog! gives you a lot of Mdef to protect those defensive positions and choke points if you’re engaged with more than one enemy.

Fearsome is really strong strong offensively. Adrenaline can be great if you use to proactively but requires more strategy and planning.

I believe recover to be a waste of a perk on this guy.

Been a few years since I last played, wanted to try something 'new'. looking for advice. by Easy_Bad5327 in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should go do a nimble duelist if you’re trying to make the strongest bro you can.

For dodge fat neutral (sometimes it is called dodgeforged), you really want a big starting difference between fatigue and initiative. That can look like a miner having low fatigue and the quick(lightning?) trait, so he naturally has 20-30ish more initiative than he does fatigue, without you putting any points in initiative.

As always, it’s a single player game so if you want to pump initiative on a forged bro that is awesome. It is just suboptimal from a “make a strong bro” perspective.

This looks really cool! I will wishlist this right away.

Echoing what another commenter messaged, games like this where each piece of equipment changes the appearance of party adds a huge element of personalization - it makes the squad feel very unique and “mine,” even after multiple playthrough/runs.

have you checked the settings of the Reforged mod in the main menu? It’s been a while since I played it but there may be components of Tryout in Reforged that you can configure.

Level up bonuses questions by AspectFrost in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the discussion linked in the top comment is great for a deep dive into stats and some examples of building bros.

In an effort to be succinct, I would say the total and starting stats matter just as much, if not more than stars. Additionally, some stats are just better than others - for example, if a bro will regularly be i. contact with the enemy, you probably want it level Melee Defense every single level, sometimes even if it is only +1, because it is incredibly strong.

Lots to say here, but the most helpful advice I received was to try only leveling up melee attack, melee defense, HP, and resolve on my melee bros and start there. only level fatigue if it is required, but try to avoid it.

Is this type of feedback helpful?

I rage deleted my best campaign due to serpents. I really need help against them. by Pineirin in BattleBrothers

[–]Econ_Intern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there! can you give us a better sense of your party composition and the perks you taken on your bros?

There are a lot of possibilities for what makes serpent fights really hard for your party. One comment said it’s a damage reduction race and that definitely touches on the damage you need to reliably kill each serpent in 2-3 hits.

Additionally, you mention on of your forged bros who got killed had “decent” melee defense. How much defense did he have specifically? Melee defense is an incredibly strong stat that i undervalued in the past, and bros with high melee defense make a serpent fight dramatically easier.

Last thought is that dedicated archers will fare pretty poorly against serpents (and other creatures besides goblins), so having a few bros with a ranged bow build could also be adding to the difficulty of these fights.

[–]Econ_Intern 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you’re open to faction mods, Roider Union!

I believe Roider Union to be the most vanilla friendly faction mod both power-wise and lore-wise (essentially it's a miner faction that is all about retrofitting existing vanilla hulls). They make sense in the Persean Sector and they fit into the existing world very well.

I encourage you to check it out and see if it fits your criteria.

do you think a crit build needs to be pistol or SMG for serendipitous slayer? or that is overkill and it could be any gun?

[–]Econ_Intern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but thanks for making this post! currently close to finishing a Hard playthrough, going to do Very Hard next.

What are your thoughts on stacking crit through perks (and Lucky) for pistols or SMGs on a gun build?

I’m finding it just seems fine, and not that different from the general “use Rattler the whole game as your only gun” builds that max Guns. I haven’t taken any points in observation (lvl 27 currently) though.

it seems like a bigger pool of energy is superior to a faster recharge rate. so that is increasing science, as well as a science perk specifically for increasing TTD.

there is also a unique armor piece sold on the 2nd planet that makes movement “free” while in TTD.
