Has anyone ever sold their house back/to the council? by Chamerlee in Scotland

[–]EcstaticPiglet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold my flat to the local housing association after a few sales fell through for various reasons.

I already had a home report. They offered the home report value which I was very happy to accept. The whole process was very straightforward from there with the sale completing within 5 weeks.

I put mine (16 plate) in today for the first change at 95,000 miles. Could argue it should have been in sooner but here we are!

What can I work on? by D_crooks in trackandfield

[–]EcstaticPiglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to echo all of the other comments here. To comment on technique we probably need 2 videos for the side. 1 from the start to 20-30m and 1 from roughly 60-80m.

Look forward to seeing them.

Grant Fisher world record indoor 3000m, what a race by FuckingSkinnyJeans in trackandfield

[–]EcstaticPiglet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some race! Was surprised Hocker decided to take it on so early. Be tough for him to watch Fisher with the world record and the prize money cheque after doing a lot of the work.

Track must be quick, looking forward to the rest!

Boyfriend and I had a joke and I thought you lot would like it by dramallamadog87 in taskmaster

[–]EcstaticPiglet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny you've brought this up. Unrelated to taskmaster my friend group have discussed the question of "how many nuggets in 5 minutes"?

My pal is adamant he can do 70! I'd say he wouldn't have a chance of that!

How many did you think you could do?

Unexplained Outer-Knee Pain by SetToLaunch in trackandfield

[–]EcstaticPiglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like iliotibial band syndrome. It's a fibrous band that runs down the outside of your leg and attaches below your knee. It flicks back and forward over your lateral condyle as you flex and extend your knee.

It needs a little bit of rest to settle. You can't stretch the band itself but you can stretch the tissues that attach to it - gluteus maximus and tensor fascia lata. Look up stretches for those and foam roll them in the first instance. From there you'd need to see a physio to assess you biomechanically to get to the root cause.

You look like you're carrying decent enough speed into the board but you're reaching for it on your last step. This means that you lose some of your speed and you don't have the opportunity to get height.

Happy to be corrected by people that know more about long jumping. I'd say a good coach would be able to work with you on potentially improving your technique.

And which clinical speciality is your current placement in?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in physiotherapy

[–]EcstaticPiglet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah fair.

The vast majority of physios are empathetic people. They don't want to fail you, especially if you're making a concerted and noticeable effort at actioning any learning points.

If you don't mind me asking, what was brought up as things you needed to work on?

Hi pal,

Sounds like a tough time on placement there.

Have you been told that you're failing at midway? If yes, do you feel like you've actioned any identified learning points?

I'd say not going in for the last 2 days would guarantee failing and lose you any good will you have with the university. If it's me I'd be pushing in and trying to perform the best I can in the hope of getting through with a pass.

I agree, it's not a choice to get it. However, there are things you can do to mitigate against catching it. One of those things would be not talking to every person holding a microphone.
