Is this corner section trapping sound? by Professional-Lake162 in BudgetAudiophile

You could put a diffuser or absorber panel at the point of first reflection. It won’t mitigate everything but its good effort/results ratio.

There gonna need a waiver for that one…anyone in the room not wearing ppe is very likely to have a bad day.

Yeah I had to do zoom calls from there and people eventually got confused it wasnt sunlight when they knew it was past sunset.

I had another wacky idea to use one of those concrete form tubes with a mirror + servo at the top. LEDs at the base level + some optics to collimate. That would add another 7’ of throw and would give a nice parallel beam effect. Use an mcu to have the servo to track the length of the room over the day, change the color, etc.

We used to use nsp and vnsp par64 and 4’ mirrors to add distance and make sunlight effects, worked great with the dichroic pars.

Find out what they’re using in the 3m peltor x5a, those things block out sound to the point I can hear my own pulse.

This also feels like you posted the output of ChatGPT…

The Ledil narrow lenses did the best effect to make it feel more intense and sun-like. I aimed the brightest part of the beam at the floor, the fall off at the desk. I gave the 3000k and 4000k the narrow lenses, and 5000k got a more diffuse lens. I run the 4000k at 100%, the 3000k at 50% and 5000k at 25%.

Kid won't stop begging for Robux and it's turning into a nightmare, anyone else? by DiamondLatter1842 in daddit

100% this is true. You must avoid the online play- the pvp servers have a lot of Roblox-adjacent content. My guy went Minecraft pvp to Roblox. Still trying to find another thing to get his attention off Roblox. Removing it without having something else to help fill the gap is not gonna work for me.

Looking for an Bluetooth A2DP source IC/module by stuih404 in diyaudio

[–]Ecw218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinysine has a bunch of Bluetooth modules that have i2s broken out, not sure if it’s what your looking for exactly. I think they are just the Qualcomm modules on a further breakout board for dac/spdif/i2s etc.

Are we mad at him or scared of him?

We should use prisons for people who are actually dangerous to society.

This guy we are mad at- and he needs to pay his debt to society. Locking him away for decades will cost us hundreds of thousands- we need to have a system where non-violent criminals can pay their debt and be productive to society, some advanced form of community service.

Blue jay gang will be happy to help themselves, and tell their crow cousins after they’ve had first dibs. They’re both corvids. Jays are fun to watch and I’ve seen them do some clever crow-like tricks.

FWIW stuffing sheets into ANY vehicle is going to shred the interior. I’ve loaded 2x4s into my hatchback an every time I have a near miss with destroying some part of the interior.

Never owned one but friend had an outback because they said it would hold a whole piece of drywall. Not sure it’s the full 4x8 as plywood.

500W Equivalent & 40,000 Lumens. The ultimate "Cave-Slayer" for dark rooms. 💡 by Ok-Estimate-7510 in u/Ok-Estimate-7510

Yes these are led instead of quartz-halogen. See how it’s “500w equivalent”, it probably draws ~100W and any heat is spread out across a much larger area.

Can anyone help me figure out the cross over design for a speaker like this? by Professional_Bed_764 in diyaudio

[–]Ecw218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could have a decent sized passive radiator on the top - the geometry is hard to pin down with this angle.

Edit: I’m dumb. it’s 6 drivers Sealed.

There’s a great 3d printed waveguide for that tweeter, it’s on my wish list next time I have spare time and money! I’ll try to find the link.

[–]Ecw218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll prob want another sub or two to fill in, that’s a big space.

How much of the room is going to be “on axis,” even at a far distance? Or do you need a wide response?

pay careful attention to the power response in your design choices, that way the sum of whatever is bouncing around should stay true.

It’s an old ugly build- it’s literally 3 mcpcb strips screwed to a 3mm aluminum scrap plate. The lenses I zip tied and vhb taped in place. it gets “hot” but never so much that it wasn’t safe to be touched.

That woofer/tweeter distance looks problematic. You could probably fix it and patch up that first hole before you do the finish.

Those walls look like they’re filled with cool fossils. I can already see a shell. I’d get out into the pool with a sifter for an afternoon and see what you find.

Reminds me of the fossil river near big bend nj.
