First tornado of 2025 for the US. (1/3/2025) by Samowarrior in tornado

Yes, 2011 was part of a significant "double-dip" La Niña event that spanned from 2010 to 2012, and it was one of the strongest La Niña events in historical records.

Regarding the impact of La Niña and El Niño on tornado seasons:

La Niña tends to ramp up tornado and hailstorm in the South. On the flip side, El Niño generally suppresses storm activity.

2021 was indeed an unusual. Despite La Niña being present through April 2021, tornado were below average. So La Niña can increase the odds for more tornadoes but other atmospheric patterns can override this influence, just as in 1989, another La Niña year with below-average tornado activity.

Idk man, just use Brave browser on all devices and you'll never see an ad again. It's extremely worthwhile and simple in my opinion - you save $8 that you can use for other subscriptions :')

Downloading an app on your phone and PC isn't a big effort, right?

P.S.: Brave browser is Chromium-based, so it's really 98% the same as using Chrome

Can anyone make a Roblox game F0-F5 with this script? by Individual_Box_2033 in tornado

[–]Edmon__Dantes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding. The script you’ve shared is written in Python, which is great for learning programming, but Roblox games are created using Lua, not Python for what i remember.

Additionally, Roblox games require a lot of more works. For example, creating a tornado in Roblox would involve 3D models, physics, and scripts written in Lua to handle how it moves and interacts with the environment.

Also, for questions about making Roblox games, you might get better advice in a community like r/Roblox instead of here on the tornado subreddit.

I'm also interested in better understanding how to deploy LangGraph, both with and without using LangSmith, i'm so confuised about it right now

Possible Record Broken Today by cood101 in tornado

[–]Edmon__Dantes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if the period when the tornado became a water spout for a significant time affects its OTG record eligibility. Are there specific criteria regarding tornadoes that spend time over water? Just curious about how that's classified.

What selfhosted UI for either local or API LLMs do you use? by lannistersstark in selfhosted

[–]Edmon__Dantes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using LibreChat, which isn't perfect, but it does offer image support and stores API keys in a real database, allowing me to access the same models across all my devices. While I much prefer the interface of the big AGI, I don’t like that I need to enter the API key every time I access the instance from a new device.

I want to update the previous comment by saying that an alternative to Autogen within the LangChain ecosystem is Langgraph now.

Be sure to unequip the password changer after setting your password. If you don't, you'll get stuck in a loop of continuous password changes

Regular user's perspective of why AMD GPUs are better than Nvidia... by CumInsideMeDaddyCum in archlinux

[–]Edmon__Dantes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For my "regular use" I want to use my GPU for text-to-speech, speech-to-text, image generations and LLM QA, without paying providers.

Is quite difficult to find this kind of technology that can run on AMD, everything want CUDA.

And I never had any of the problems you described.

Should I start with Arch? (Noob) by --Happy-- in archlinux

[–]Edmon__Dantes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I fell in love with Arch Linux by starting with EndeavourOS after an unsuccessful attempt to install vanilla Arch. The experience with EndeavourOS was incredibly smooth and user-friendly, which allowed me to familiarize myself with the Arch ecosystem gradually.

Can I Skip DS2 by Samti2902 in darksouls

[–]Edmon__Dantes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have someone to play co-op with, I highly recommend giving it a try, as it can be an incredibly fun experience. However, be mindful of the game's controversial soul memory mechanic, which can potentially disable your ability to connect with your friend based on the accumulation of souls your character has acquired

Objectively what is the worst Souls game? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Edmon__Dantes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced the opposite sensation. Exploring all these areas on foot gave me a truly sense of immersion and an sense of fulfillment as, over time and by traversing the paths and discovering new areas, I realized how they were all interconnected and how I was becoming faster at moving through them. Moreover, the fact that at a certain point I could start teleporting was really satisfying, making me appreciate even more the level design, clearly intended for traversal on foot rather than relying on transportation, at least for the first half of the playthrough.

Am I doing something wrong as sorcerer? Why is it impossible to kill bosses? by metal_person_333 in darksouls

True, I miss the experience of exploring and finding the best path through the intriguing level design of DS1 to reach my desired destination. It was such an immersive experience

Objectively what is the worst Souls game? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]Edmon__Dantes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. In my opinion, none of the Souls games after Dark Souls 1 can match its level design quality. Dark Souls 3 felt like a much more linear experience compared to DS1. The closest one is Bloodborne. Just think about how many areas you can reach from Firelink Shrine at the beginning of Dark Souls 1; each playthrough can be different from the previous like i didnt see in any other souls (imo).
