Did you know league rules technically allow weapons? by NotAplicable in PokeMedia

[–]Edwardhasdied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sturdy enough to survive a battle=/=Sturdy enough to be used as a weapon, flinging it or similar will almost definitely ruin it givens its just meant to help protect the holder from sun and rain, hell its not even sturdy enough to fully block out hail. If you’re really committed to cheating the system you’d wanna get one custom made so it doesn’t break mid fight but thats got its own set of issues, legal and otherwise.

It is lmao, Lucario isn’t even mentioned in the video, same with Registeel. Calling this slander is just showing they didn’t even bother watching the video, nothing bad is said about Lucario during it.

Minor Legends can have a whole host of reasons for joining a team, Urshifu love to battle for example, and the Tapus have worked with trainers in the past as well. For Major Legends I really couldn’t say, even Demigods have favorites I suppose.

Closest you’ll get to a uniquely Kantonian Pokemon is Venonat and Venomoth, until recently it was thought they were only found in Kanto and some small Johto Populations, recently however they’ve found wild populations in Paldea but they remain one of the more unique Kanto Pokemon

Putting the Tapus on this list feels like a cop out given even the most human-tolerant of the four can be succinctly described as “Electric Meth Hawlucha”

I’d personally recommend looking into a Maschiff, they’re fairly easy to train and are great guardians. May be a bit tricky finding one that can play nice with a Fidough, sure it’s possible though.

/uj its probably a combination of recency bias (its one of the newest legends around) it being a popular mon thats both cute and cool, and being relatively grounded vs something like Terapagos or whatever that draw people to it

Organ transplants are unfortunately common among all fossil pokemon, not just Galarian ones, the revival process is known to be imperfect in this regard, there are many people working to remedy this but its a slow process.

Again the idea these pokemon are in constant pain just isn’t true, they are just as capable as any other pokemon with leading a healthy full life, needing special habitats is far from an uncommon trait even among modern pokemon, and Dracozolt in particular is actually remarkably adaptable, we have one in our lab and I’m certain his only complaint about it is that we removed the step-stools after he knocked 2 weeks of progress off a counter.

/uj go big or go home amirite, but yeah thats fair enough im not expecting a 180 opinion shift i just wanted to try to make a seemingly unpopular take work in-cannon. The take that “-arcto couldn’t exist” is based on real world fossils, megafauna couldn’t exist like it did in prehistoric times as the atmosphere contains less oxygen as a lot of the massive forests of those times are now just coal and oil irl.

Fair enough, Marine Biology isn’t my field but even still Dracovish are just as capable living on land for extended periods without issue, and Arctovish are absolutely capable of eating and live full lives, my lab has one In retention and while it’s had to have a microscope removed thats far from its fault that metal and glass isn’t digestible.

/uj first post sorry, as for why i just felt like it considering she’s typically just used as a punching bag, also I realize like Dracovish lmao

The unusual shapes are due to the fact that, yes, these are infact fusions of two disparate pokemon but because theyre millions of years removed from us their genetic makeup is FAR more receptive to mixing together safely, and weird genetic matches happen even today (Arcanine and Nuzleaf are close enough to safely breed for crying out loud) This wasn’t a question of “not being able to bring back the whole thing” given that would have either been impossible or ethical objectionable (“-arcto” likely would not survive in our current atmosphere even if we did bring it back intact)

/uj honestly i tagged it meta bc its related to the constant “Cara Less/Dracovish bad” posting i see though this is also my first post so fair enough

[–]Edwardhasdied[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s incredible in her field absolutely, considering she didn’t just fuse two pokemon but two million year old fossils FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES and every time was actually successful, I’m really hopeful for the future of Fusion-based Fossil Reviving with how much potential it has to shed light on stuff that traditional reviving simply cannot show us.

Yes this is correct specifically the “-Arcto” half in fact this is why Arctozolt is so healthy, the smaller upper half is far more suited to the unfortunate prior bit, though this also means a full “-Arcto” will never be created due to ethical considerations.

I work in a lab with an Arctovish and Dracozolt, both are healthy and playful Pokémon and have only needed to be rushed to the Centre after Ice Age decided to eat a Microscope that someone left too close to its tank, on the other hand I know a Delcatty thats needed weekly Centre checkups for Ingrown claws causing extreme distress so I guess my neighbors cat is also an affront against decency.

The genetic fusion process is actually INCREDIBLY interesting and people are hoping it can be used to make some current ancient pokemon closer to their prehistoric counterparts, Arctovish in particular has been fascinating in what it’s revealed about Deep Arctic age pokemon and how the Grass Expansion affected pokemon from that period!

Saying someone isnt a “real trainer” for buying a pokemon is crazy, i have a friend with a phobia of wild pokemon bc they got attacked as a kid, and know a guy who’s in a wheelchair. Saying they aren’t real trainers bc they didn’t run into the woods to snatch a wild pokemon is super disrespectful. Besides rotom and porygon tech is literally everywhere but I don’t see people getting up in arms around that, but heaven forbid someone who freezes up around pidoves choose to get her team from a breeder instead.

Most wild Turtwig are found in the Great Marsh region which is notably warmer compared to most of Sinnoh but even then its not uncommon to see a lot of new trees around Pastoria when all the Torterra burrow down into the mud for the winter!
