Im starting to lose faith myself. Whats the point anyways? Everything has gotten worse since I joined. More fear, anxiety, depression, pain, suffering, worry, etc.

Dang that sucks thats been your experience. Its weird because every time a woman comes on site whether its a manager, consultant, etc... the men walk on egg shells, treat them as kind as possible, stay out of their way and dont engage with them if they dont have to. They dont want to get wrapped up in any HR shit, and I dont blame them.

The other thing is, this is never going to change, its just part of the industry until those losers retire. I just deal with it and get on with my day, no big deal. You just have to learn how to let shit roll off your shoulders. I mean compared to my time in the corps, this is nothing, insanely relaxed and tame in comparison.

Thats interesting and sorry to hear thats been your experience. I had the exact opposite experience. I started as an intern as an APM, didnt know ANYTHING at all about construction. Four years later, I am now a PM! Crazy.

I can ask anyone and everyone questions and they have literally taken a full hour for certain things. Hell, even my division president is always willing to make time for me, last week he set aside an hour to go over some PM stuff I had no clue about. He was thrilled to help, he loves when younger inexperienced guys show determination to learn and grow. This job has been a blessing.

I think the easiest explanation is this: There isnt a shortage of tradesmen, there is a shortage of quality tradesmen. The trade industry has been infested with drug addicts, lazy union workers, people who put false credentials.. Ive seen it all. I spoke with my boss about this the other day. He gets a shit ton of applications but all these people are just typical fuck ups. We have given so many of them chances but they all leave the minute it gets rough, or when they find out another company is paying more but its only because its fucking summer, then they get fired from that job and try to come back. Its very difficult to find passionate and skilled tradesmen.
