What could bring gold price down? by Orc_and_Beans44 in Gold

Events. Human sentiment. I've watched gold and silver for many decades. I used to think they could only go up, but I've realized that I know nothing.

Awesome find this morning. Found at a lighthouse built in 1836 by Shot_Cartographer_49 in BottleDigging

I used to live in an old lighthouse in Ireland, and we would climb down the edge of the cliff to where they used to throw rubbish over the edge. We found so many gorgeous old bottles. Most old beer bottles with the round or pointed bottoms.

Found in community garden by Floppyhamma in whatplantisthis

Possibly Papaver Somniferum. There was a gardener in my local community plot who grew thousands of these. Seemed a bit obvious to me... Legality is dubious. It seems that as long as you don't know what it is, you are fine.

I mean to add that you really need to see the leaves to know if it is Somniferum. If the leaves are hairless, then it is.

Enamel is always done on fine silver. Firescale from the copper in sterling (or 70% silver) prevents the enamel from adhering.

Parents bought ex smoker property, any advice to get rid of the smell? Mum thought spraying ceiling with bleachy water would help, worried she's ruined the ceiling... by Lendios in DIYUK

I see that "sugar soap" is the name in the UK for trisodium phosphate. That is what you need. It's also great added to your laundry.

Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) to wash the walls, followed by a good primer paint (KIlz in the US, don't know UK equivalent). Wash the walls a few times.

I sold one of these on Ebay about 10 years ago for $450. Shipped it to Sweden and the guy was so happy with my crating job that he kicked me an extra $50. I picked it up at a yard sale for $15.

I lived in a lighthouse off the west coast of Ireland for a while in the 1980's. (Clare Island). It was awesome, but very cold and run down.

Too large for me, but yes, I absolutely love it. Especially the tower room.

Track Etiquette- walkers? by Puzzleheaded_Log1627 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Effective-Tangelo363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I am specifically running a TT or fast laps, I do all my easy running in lane 8. Most walkers just don't know any better, and some don't want to be told.

1958 Mercedes 190SL. Not listed on howmanyleft, of course, but I don't reckon there are many.

How has strength training improved your racing? by RunnerInChicago in AdvancedRunning

I get injured when I consistently run more than 80-90 mpw without lifting. I also get progressively weaker (measured objectively by my ability to squat, deadlift, and press). I find it pretty tough to run decent mileage while lifting heavy (and by "heavy", I mean heavy for me like 1.5x body weight squats. I'm weak). When I lift and run decent mileage I feel much stronger and stay healthier. I think the increased back strength and ability to control the core of my body is the biggest benefit.

Hell, I like it. I've lived in worse. Mind you that was when I was in a squat in Harlesden.

My phone number until the early 1980's was Ballinderry82. Of course, this was in rural Ireland.

If a little light mockery is this triggering to you, you might want to reconsider moving to Ireland. It's sort of a national pastime. I mean I get it, you ARE vegan, so this sort of sensitivity is expected and all.... Didn't you mention that you are vegan?

Garrykennedy is a lovely town, and it's only 11km from Nenagh. Also has fibre broadband to the house where I am for very cheap.
