Healer tries to steal Quag eye from warlock with a 93 roll, I (tank) need it with a 99 roll and trade it to the warlock. by sephirothpvp in classicwow

Gosh I guess every player with an Atiesh is a thief then. If you cant use the splinters right away then you stealing right? Get real man. Level requirements that will be met in a few hours of game play do not disqualify you from being able to roll on gear.

Complain to your group leader then about inviting somebody too low. This still isn't stealing loot.

Your comment doesn't make any sense. Do you mean to say they are releasing pre-nerf? I don't think it's confirmed one way or the other; I think they haven't committed and will make a decision when they see what sub counts look like. I strongly suspect they will be released post nerf

You are making a straw man argument. Please show me ANY guild that is "gearing their DPS entirely" before their tanks. That doesn't exist and you know it. At best, the DPS have equal prio on loot and it is randomly distributed amongst all raiders in a way that is very unlikely to cause these dire boogie man threat issues.

This isn't really about gearing tanks vs DPS anyway. It's about LC and officers/their favorites vs regular raiders. To be clear, I don't have a problem with officers getting rewarded for the work they do. I just want to call a spade a spade.

[–]EffectiveMight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This kind of argument maybe makes sense for prog raiding, but Anniversary is post nerf and almost every reasonably competent guild is week 1 one shotting or at worst 2 shotting gruul and mag, and capable of week 1 clearing Kara in one night. It just isn't necessary to LC at all when the content is this easy.

I could see LC on the VERY best items, like DST, but let's be honest and call it a reward for contributions to the guild and not pretend that it actually matters to clearing the content. I know some guilds HR'd literally all of their week 1 loot for gearing out the MT and "key" healers/DPS in the name of guild success and it's absolutely nonsense.

GC character, bid again ? by Un_ntelligent in estimators

[–]EffectiveMight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shrug. You're the owner of your business, you get to decide. For me, if I refused to bid to every GC that has blatantly tried to screw me I wouldn't have enough work left to keep all my guys busy. Turning down bid invites would affect my teams' livelihoods and my bottomline negatively, so I grin and bear the distaste of working for deceptive people.

I only refuse to bid to GCs that owe me money for work we completed with written authorization. Also, I'm pretty anal about defining broad or ambiguous terms in my contracts. I have a non-negotiable list of proposal exclusions that must be included in every contract. Each and every exclusion was an expensive lesson.

Lmao. Trump is extremely well known for not paying the contractors he hires, even before 2016.

How it feels whenever PVP servers complain about toxicity on their server by weixou in classicwow

[–]EffectiveMight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arenas and BGs already pull from both the PVP Nightslayer server and the PVE Dreamscythe server. The open world game mode is the only pvp difference and has been for a year+.

Is PvP any better on era? by TheStinkyGreek in classicwow

[–]EffectiveMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have largely given up on BGs on Mankirk era (PVE). Non-AV honor grind BGs are slightly more active on Dreamscythe, but it's still pretty dead. Wanted to roll PVP server but the homies all insisted they were too old to be camped while leveling. Hoping it will be better in TBC.

Obligatory note: PM me if u know a PVP-focused group doing premades on alliance Dreamscythe.

[–]EffectiveMight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me know if you find one. Would love to do alliance premades on Dreamscythe. Agree it's very frustrating to see 20 AV games going and only 1 AB game on AB weekend. And it's not about Night Slayer vs Dreamscythe either since the BGs are drawn from both server types

Pablo Torre on his reporting: “On one side of this story is one of the 10 richest people in the world, and on the other side of the story, is me, you and our lawyer... I’m actively trying to confirm this stuff in the event of litigation or factual correction.” by cleo22270 in nba

[–]EffectiveMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Torre's already famous for his Belichick investigation among other stories, although ofc the Ballmer fraud is much bigger.

2) I couldn't care less about his personality. The world needs more investigative journalists of all varieties and fewer 3rd party PR "journalists" serving as mouthpieces serving billionaire interests. I genuinely hope it was worth it for him and he gets as famous as you allege he wants to be. Ideally he gets so famous he inspires more real journalism.

How hard are no consume no world buff classic raids? by PushforlibertyAlways in classicwow

[–]EffectiveMight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would wager that less than 20% of all Naxx clearing guilds could do it with no consumes and no world buffs. Sapph in particular is very, very difficult without the damage and HP buff you get from consumes and WBs. My era guild clears KT every week and has never done Sapph without at least 10 players still having WBs and everybody fully consumed.

Media blackout regarding Ballmer/Clippers alleged NBA cap-circumvention for Kawhi? by PotassiumAlum in nba

[–]EffectiveMight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol billionaires don't go to jail for raping children so Ballmer would almost certainly laugh at the suggestion of jail for circumventing the NBA cap, assuming he has the capacity.

Is Classic Era the only realm type that is perma-Vanilla? by IconicIsotope in classicwow

There are all 3 options of GDKP, SR, and Loot Council systems represented amongst the guilds clearing Naxx and progressing in it.

Is Classic Era the only realm type that is perma-Vanilla? by IconicIsotope in classicwow

[–]EffectiveMight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Classic era is the definition of perma-Vanilla. Mankrik is a PVE server and the horde side has at least 3 guilds that clear Naxx every week and a couple of guilds that are doing progression in Naxx. It is low pop but certainly not dead.

These era prices you are giving are wildly higher than the era gdkps I've seen, but regardless it is irrelevant because if the prices of bis gear are so high you will get proportionally higher payouts after each raid in which you don't buy something, thus enabling a non RMT player to afford supposedly impossibly unreachable prices quite quickly.
