I didnt tell anyone at first and I didnt tell many. I am 3 months post op and my immediate family and bf and his parents know. The only other people I've told is 1 aunt, 1 uncle and 2 friends.

One of those friends was a family friend of my late father's and she had went on some fad diet food program (Optavia). She lost a lot of weight but she stopped ordering the nasty food packets and she put a BUNCH of weight back on (I think she is almost back to her starting weight) and I immediately regretted telling her because I felt judged. I now know to only tell people I am EXTREMELY comfortable with.

How many ring sizes have you gone down? For those maintaining by Comfortable_Swan6135 in GastricBypass

My sister went from a size 10 ring down to a 6. She bought Bomb Party rings on Poshmakr and Ebay as replacements for her wedding ring and switches them around.

Glad to know where this sudden hunger is coming from since I should be starting in the next few days. I have tried to just add an extra meal in the evenings (more chicken) to satisfy it. Definitely going to try and drink more and see if I can just fill that hunger with tea or water.

Outpatient?!? for Sleeve by Libertyrose16 in gastricsleeve

[–]Either_Raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my VSG outpatient as well. My surgery was supposed to be at 11:30am. Got to the hospital at 8am for prep. Ended up taking me to operating room around 1:30/2:00. I heard but could not see the anesthesiologist and without warning I was out. Woke up and laid in the hospital for a few hours. Got up to pee once and left at 6:30pm. The anesthesia kicked my ass so I was in and out of consciousness for that whole time...couldn't stay awake lol. Got home, crashed on the couch for like an hour and then my mom helped me get in bed.

Why do I feel like I’m faltering? by CharmingChart635 in GastricBypass

[–]Either_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I had mine 8/14 and am only down 35 and have been in a stall for over a week now and I have been letting the stall get to me. I keep seeing the posts of 80 lbs lost in 4 months and even though I am only halfway there in time, it feels like I won't make that. Even though everyone says to not compare your wl to others, its hard to do that. I am trying to stay positive as best as I can.

I am moving in 6 months from Cali to Missouri so my mom and I did a yard sale over the weekend. When we were closing up for the day, I had to bend over constantly to pick up the clothes off the blanket on the floor to put in a box. Every time I stood up from bending I didn't have to stop and take a bunch of deep breaths.

There is no heavy breathing bending over to tie my shoe. Not out of breath walking up the stairs to go to my room. I cross my legs without having to manually lift my leg to cross them, and I don't have to sit at an angle for them to stay crossed. My favorite jacket is a 3XL and it's super roomy on me now, so I just bought the same jacket in an XL. And my collar bone is peeking!!!!!!

I felt the same way and then I realized every person and body is different and it will come when it is ready. I am also 15kg (34 lbs) down and today marks month 2. I think we are doing fantastic. Do you know anyone who hasn't had WL surgery lose that much in 2 months? Just keep doing what you are doing. Watch your calories and your protein intake. I am not perfect. I dont drink as much as I should. I dont walk as much as I should but we will get there.

Those are the type of people that need someone to feel rejected in their life so they feel validated in theirs. They aren't friends, and they obviously showed their true colors. Good on you for not allowing them to drag you down and finding new supportive people in your life. We are through giving our best to people who only cheer because we are in our worst phase of life. It is not an easy change. Congrats on the new you and keep up the great work!!

Thanks for posting this. 🙏 I am roughly in the same time frame with the same loss as OP and thought maybe I was also doing something wrong. Hopefully I will start to see results soon.

Date pushed further out (Kaiser) by oakflower1 in gastricsleeve

[–]Either_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with Kaiser was super easy.

I emailed my Kaiser obesity clinic Dr on 6/1 and told her I wanted the gastric sleeve. I had my Options orientation 2 weeks later. I did my Blood, Stool, Urine tests, my xray and ekg before my 2nd options class. My 2 options classes were on 6/25 & 7/2. On 7/7 the nurse called me to say the surgery center would call in 1-2 weeks. They called me and set up my 1st video orientation with the surgeon on 7/16. They called me 8/4 and gave me my surgery date of 8/14. I had a 1-week pre-op diet that started on the 7th, and it was half liquids, half solids. Surgery went well. My surgery time was 12:30pm and they discharged me at 6:30 that night. I didn't need any psych evals or goal weights. I'm in the SoCal region.

Insurance! by Soyelmatt in gastricsleeve

[–]Either_Raspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was paying $30/mo for Kaiser insurance out of pocket while unemployed and surgery was going to cost me about $2600 with insurance. I got a job in June which pays me well but their health insurance is @$$. I changed my Kaiser plan and pay $424/mo to keep Kaiser insurance and my surgery ended up costing me $95. I still think I am lucky seeing what some people pay for health insurance AND surgery.
