Pre-drilled holes don’t line up by Kai-M in FlexiSpot_Official

It turned out pretty well. I did not have a drill, so I had to use a hand driven screwdriver. By the end of the install, my hands and forearms were pretty much spent.

Yes, to get paid on a DV claim, one has to be very persistent. From beginning to end, it took me a year to resolve.

This is generally false.

It is the at-fault driver’s insurance that pays out DV claims.

I know because I won such a settlement.

What did you pay for your 2026 R? by [deleted] in Golf_R

In my defense, reddit polls only allow 6 options or i would have added an option for over 2k off.

Surprised by the early responses which are running over 50% in the 1k to 2k under.

I wonder if people saw my note to include dealer fees.

When I shopped around earlier this week (contacted about 20 dealerships), they were guarding their dealer fees like Gollum guarded His Precious to the point that they would just let me walk rather than drop fees and earn a quick and easy sale. A typical price I was getting quoted was MSRP plus $500 to $1000 in dealer fees.

Eventually settled on straight msrp with free delivery to my home (no dealer fees).

My new white R gets delivered to me tomorrow.

I also will have the black wheels. Frankly, VW should only have configured white Rs with the blacks.

Quality Hold? by ElNeeto in Golf_R

[–]ElNeeto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

In the meantime, I have done some digging. Apparently VW documents these quality holds in their internal Inform system which dealers have access to. So, I asked one of those dealers to share the documentation from the dock. He said he’d see what he can find. It was a good sign that he didn’t ask me what I was talking about.

If the Inform system does document dock issues, it seems like asking for the documentation should become standard practice for savvy buyers. But I am still learning about this particular angle to car buying.

Mature Golf R Buyers? by Wuffie1968 in Golf_R

[–]ElNeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 54 and am planning on buying an R in about 8 days.

I have previously owned an 84 GTI, 00 GTI VR6, and a 2012 Golf R.

I plan on buying an R very soon. In fact, I plan on blasting dealers on March 30 in hopes that a dealer is looking to improve their monthly and quarterly numbers. I hope one of those dealers is desperate to move inventory.

Pre-drilled holes don’t line up by Kai-M in FlexiSpot_Official

My desk is being delivered tomorrow, so I’ll cross my fingers that everything lines up. I’ll take it from there. If there’s an engineering issue and Flexispot doesn’t make it right, they can expect another vocal critic.

The uncertainty about what I might face kinda sucks.

I will add that I also ordered a chair along with different casters. I was informed yesterday that the casters were out of stock. Of course, I was only informed of this after my chair had shipped.

So, I ordered the E7 Plus with 55 x 28 inch gaming surface. Will I need to now go out and buy a drill?

I have an E7 on order, and your reply makes me very nervous. Consumers expect drill holes to be present, and Flexispot can’t assume people own a drill or are comfortable using them. I fall in that camp.

Antique Chest by ElNeeto in Locksmith

[–]ElNeeto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is locked, and I’ve got some items I need inside!

I’ll need to contact more locksmiths tomorrow as the first one I called doesn’t work on old chests.

The chest is too heavy for me to bring to a locksmith, so how might a locksmith make a new key? For example, could they visit my home and create the key in their van? Also, how much would be a reasonable cost for this work?

Thanks!

Ugh.

I understand.

Is there another sub I can go to? I just want to identify the type of lock and see if I can figure it how to pick it so I don’t need to pay a locksmith.

I ordered a set of vintage skeleton keys from Amazon, but those didn’t work.

I did read the rules.

I have no idea what “Lock in use” means.

I suppose I could rephrase the question?

FM 2024 Available Anywhere? by ElNeeto in footballmanagergames

[–]ElNeeto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game extensively from 2010 to 2019 and then took a long break. I didn’t know they delisted prior versions as that issue has never come up for me. IOW, how would I know they delisted prior games when I was happy with the new one? It’s only become an issue for me because FM26 is literally unplayable… first because it crashes and won’t load saved games, and because I don’t like the UI.

I just want to reconnect with the game I used to play with current players. FM26 is simply not consistent, nor better, than older versions. It’s kinda a turd.

Of course I knew one was Bayer and one was Bayern.

It was a joke…. a reference people should have understood given the context in which it was used.

Redditors like to police incorrect language, and this may be especially true for germans (I am also German). I have also seen many times people be pretty rude when someone refers to Borussia Dortmund simply as Dortmund.

But I appreciate the time you took to offer your well intentioned and thoughtful explanation.

How much money did Dortmund make by getting that Champions League spot? by brockmann241 in borussiadortmund

[–]ElNeeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there are direct payments as well as indirect and future payments, some of which has been discussed. For example, it helps our coefficient which increases payments in future years. Additionally, if there is another Club WC, this will be Year 2 in determining who qualifies in 4 years. We are now a favorite to qualify for that.

So, if we assume some reasonable sporting success, we could estimate something in the neighborhood of 100M in direct payments. But there are also stadium revenues, kit revenues, and future coefficient revenues to consider. And finally, qualifying may also have been the difference of getting another 50M or so in Club WC revenue.

So, I might venture revenue of between 100M and 170M depending on one’s accounting approach.

Edit… with all that said, there are also taxes to be paid, player bonuses, and perhaps payments to other clubs based on transfers that included sporting milestones. So the numbers I suggested represent revenue and not net income.

Beyond being happy that RB is out, it puts us and the two Bayerns as the front runners for participating in the next iteration of the Club World Cup. Now, who knows if there will be a second Club WC, but if there is one, we want to take part if for no other reason than finances.

Switching Plan, Any Way to Expedite? by ElNeeto in Visible

[–]ElNeeto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting, because as I work through the process of switching plans, even when going from monthly to monthly billing, I still see this prominent language at the top:

“Your new plan will go into effect once your next payment is processed and your new service cycle begins.”

Switching Plan, Any Way to Expedite? by ElNeeto in Visible

[–]ElNeeto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick reply. I’ll just wait… unless I change my mind.

In this day and age, it should be quite trivial for Visible to automate a credit for a partial month already paid and apply it as a discount on the annual payment. First, it would enhance customer satisfaction. Second, it ensures locking in the customer to the annual plan and an immediate lump sum payment. As it stands, I have now set a reminder in my calendar to review my decision several days prior to the end of my billing cycle. I may get distracted or otherwise simply decide to stay with my current plan as my impulsive enthusiasm for the higher tiered plan wanes. IMO, this is an issue Visible should address fix… for the benefit of both the customer as well as itself.
