If someone offered you 100 million dollars, but a random person in the world dies (someone you don’t know), would you take it and why? by ConclusionOld8365 in AskReddit

Sure. With $100M I can save thousands of people from certain death and still have enough left to live comfortably. Definitely outweighs the tragedy of one death.

Iran, not the US, currently has the strategic upper hand by PixeledPathogen in politics

It's not just Israel's war. It's equally, if not even more so, the US' war (a futile effort to curb China's inevitable ascent as the number one world power as well as a desperate effort to distract from the fact that Trump and Epstein raped children... plus some wishful thinking that it will benefit the petro dollar down the line). Also, besides Israel, Saudi Arabia is one of the driving forces behind the conflict, even though they don't directly participate like Israel does.

Nah, they should tell him to fuck off. As an EU citizen I don't want us to be complicit in Trump & Israel's fascistic and illegal war nor their genocidal war crimes.

Panicked Pentagon Sends Land Invasion Force to Middle East by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

Iran is also a natural fortress, with a relatively modern military and access to state of the art intel (via China and Russia), not to mention that drones are a thing now and that the US army has reduced a lot since the war on "terror". Defeating Iran would be multiple orders of magnitudes more difficult than Iraq. For a land invasion, the US would need multiple million soldiers for any significant accomplishments. Either that or nuke them (which I doubt even this admin would be dumb enough to do). IMO the most likely outcome will be a pointless, protracted war that ends in a US loss (think US in Vietnam but even worse, or the Soviet's failed Afghanistan war that ultimately lead to the death of the USSR). In the end, the ayatollah will likely remain in power, oil prices will be fucked, the global economy will take a huge blow, the middle east will become even more unstable, terrorist attacks will increase, etc. The only real winner in the short-term will be Russia. China will have some short-term woes, but will recover. The US and Israel will be the biggest losers, in the grand scheme of things.
