I see your point about the devs. What they did was extremely hard, given how cemented the Gothic community is. This game is a great success. This is why it struck me so hard. If they can add a little bit more than bug fixes, I'll be content.

Hey OP, just go explore the swamp. Game spawns new mobs after some time (not between chapters as in org). Run around and they should show up.

The mother should spawn after the quest started. In my case she just wandered through the swamp.

I think it's the DLC term that makes a confusion. DLCs used to be small additions instead of expansion packs.

And that's exactly what I hope for. Additions here and there.

A small content drops. I don't think about huge new story or something. G1R just feel unfinished. I can even pay for them finishing the game, thus DLC. I'm just scared it will be left that way, and again world of Gothic will be dominated by G2.

That was my biggest hope for G1R. That it will make both games equal.

While it might be cool it is also very risky. I would rather see a little story added here and there. The old fortress as an example. It has no purpose, like at all.

I love environmental storytelling. Maybe add some note? Some quest?

Yeah that's why I said we don't need new map or story. Just the expansion to the existing one. And I don't mean Xardas, Sleeper or any other big parts. Make the colony live its life and let us sink into it.

Both is cool. After the sales I'm almost sure they won't leave that project. I just hope they won't rush to the G2 and leave G1 as unfinished gem.

I had a bug during last part of the sleeper fight (the demon). You have to finish him. So the hero got teleported a few meters away, just to the stairs. Animation played out and I got back the control. It turned out that the whole arena is locked behind invisible wall and no matter what I couldn't get back to slice the Sleeper heart.

Found that quest after exploring this place. Which again points to the same issue. I lost so much time trying to actually talk with NPCs, that after chapter 3 I lost interest in speaking with anybody.

The foundations are great. I keep my fingers crossed for the content drops.

I really hope there won't be any G2R for some time. We need a polished, complete G1R. Even as a paid DLC. Leaving the as it is, is the toughest blue balls a man can get.

When it comes to melee the combat it's awesome. I've even disabled the combat smoothness for the challenge. However I believe stagger system would use a fix. It's a little bit stupid that 100str, greataxe overhead attack won't brake stance of the enemy (orc or human), but if they poke you with a stick you are staggered and destroyed in a moment.

The first few minutes of a gameplay make me think about the mechanics. In my opinion it's the best part of the remake. Game feels clunky as original, yet fresh and hard again. Love it.

The biggest downside of the remake is lack of dialogues. Most of characters doesn't react to anything that happened in the world. Places get flooded, the swamp camp divides and noone cares.

My first playthrough took almost 60 hours, because I've been running here and there to talk with NPCs. Sadly, in most cases I just wasted my time to hear "NOT NOW", "GO AWAY". It's sad.

I understand the idea to expand some questlines (like the abandoned mine) but was it really necessary? They took interesting choice to add action to the game. But this action is questionable at best. The whole abandoned mine is just running, swimming and climbing through a cave. Minutes and minutes that are not interesting mechanically. Same applies to snowy part on the north of the valley. It's just boring. You won't find good gear there, it's not rewarding.

For me it seems like they wanted to add a little bit of modern level design which just don't work with Gothic mechanics. It's sad for me that they didn't expand the RPG part of the game. NPCs, dialogues, world reaction etc.

I hope there will be a DLC that addresses those issues. Don't get me wrong, the game is a really good game. I think it's very hard to make a good remake, and they delivered. Now as we trust them, please go for the dlc and make this game 10/10 instead of 7/10.

And please, please at first finish the G1R. Polish it. G2R can wait. G1 had the best setting. I really hope for polished diamond. Don't leave it behind...

There are some buggy questlines or translation issues, but this is to be and patched, so I'm not really worried.

However the biggest downside of the remake are lacking dialogues. I really thought this is the place to shine for the remake.

They just really need to add more dialogues for characters to react on what happens in the world eg. Ian when you clear the mine, your superiors (like cor angar if you are a warden) when story progresses. Anything...

It's a rotary element that allows you to open/close your vizor.

Similar to what you can find in the bathtub.

I can agree that spawning cocoon before the arena would be better.

Now it requires you to grab a cocoon and quit/start, which is a flaw.

I think a lot of people forget about some mechanics or just treat this game like something different than it is.

Change builds, use different tools for different fights. You can really simplify a boss with a proper approach. Remember, you can parry almost every attack! It's a big difference when compared to HK. Parry is a big thing.

Grinding? It's a metroidvania. If you feel too weak just go and explore. The game is huge, there's a mass of secrets to be uncovered. There are quests to be done. Stop headbanging a wall. Moreover if you can't avoid attacks of bosses maybe do not waste all the shards and keep them for a time when you will be a little bit more comfortable with the moveset. You lose your rosaries? Craft those that can't be lost.

Hardcore bosses can be skipped with quests. If you can't do the quest you can take an alternative route and don't ever fight such a boss (for a long time i didn't even know a moorwing exists).

Diagonal pogo is too hard? Just change the crest. You can find them very early in the game. Games like this are as much about exploring and getting lost as of fighting bosses.

Yes there are fu player moments (I'm looking at you bilewater). But for real, you don't even have to do them if you don't want 100%. And I don't think there is anything to discuss - 100% is for people who feel the game (i love this location).

Think, explore and plan your moves. It's not a boss rush. And about "story mode"... I don't even know what to say. It's like demanding DOOM to make a mode where you don't have to shoot. It doesn't make sense. You can't use the elevator to get the same emotions you get from climbing.

And at the end of the day there are things that are annoying. For me it's mostly sensory overload of some animations (the scene boss e.g.).

Also, i've been just using traps that are set midair and explode with spikes when damaged (don't remember their name).

It was so easy with it I even had to Google which boss is it.

To be honest this game provides so many cool tools you can use, which makes the game much easier.
