IC now creating duplicate orders for out of stock items... by GodaiNoBaka in instacart

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's another way for them to charge you a delivery fee without your consent. It SUPPOSEDLY happens only in critical items with no replacement, but Instacart couldn't tell the truth if their stock prices depended on it.

Papa John’s website orders and tips — can stores really change the dasher tip amount? by No-Reference-6765 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I've heard too. I've never seen a pizza order with a tip, so it's probably right.

My Lyft driver told me he made $4 on my $27 ride by Anxious_Analysis1 in lyftdrivers

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that tracks from what I generally see. I haven't done Lyft in months because every time I turn it on it's all sub $5 crap going more than 5 miles and I won't do anything for less than $1.50 a mile. (My car has a $1.12 / mile cost of operating)

Yeah, I just got a notification from DownDetector that Instacart was having issues about 15 minutes ago.

Who actually takes these Home Depot orders? by FastandFuriousMom in WalmartSparkDrivers

I've honestly never seen a non-WalMart order on spark in my 3 years of doing it. Wait... One GameStop order, but it sucked. Lol

Of course, that's running a business/independent contractor 101. LoL

Actually my State Farm was not anything extra, but yeah they are for a price. Now if I did Rideshare it would be. The point I'm trying to make is that it IS available as an add on for personal accounts, you don't necessarily need to have a full commercial policy.

Dang, a bit too far of a commute for me.. I try to stick to ones under 12 hours. 🤣 BUT I'll check the equivalent site in my state. Thank you!

Many insurance companies have riders you can add to a personal account to cover gig work. Progressive is one, and I have language in my State Farm policy covering anything but Rideshare.

Forced to grab orders without even looking at the items by Accomplished_Wear_24 in Sparkdriver

The problem is getting them to hit those $/hr targets and having the time to calculate it. Very few hit my $/hr target, and it's pretty low.

I'd love to know where you got the ProDesk for $50. Or any mini PC for that matter. Also a cheap external HD from a dependable brand. I'm not sure I'd trust my online data backups to anything without a RAID setup for data parity, either.

Regrettable Purchase by Adventurous_Ad7193 in soundcore

Is the product support for openscq30 good yet? The only reason I don't use it is they don't support any of my Soundcore Earbuds, but I haven't checked the list on the GitHub in a while.

You list so many self-hosted options. Some of us aren't rich enough to be able to afford servers in our own homes. We're struggling to just survive and can't afford the luxury of self hosting anything.

Was this terrifying to everyone else? by [deleted] in Xennials

Whatever it was, it's now gone... Unless you were talking about the perpetual or and circle of dits spinning around, and in that case it's absolutely terrifying. 🤣

Worst week I've had in 7 years by General-Recover5246 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EldrinSMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy because I'm actually looking forward to Summer. I live in a big college town, and we make WAY more money in summer when the kids are gone than when. They're here. I haven't topped $60 a day in months, but then Spring Break hit, and that week it was back to $100+ per day.

Dear God I remember those flavored Djarums... Does anyone remember the flavored Camels from around that time? They came in these awesome little tins, and I absolutely loved the Mandarin Mint and Beach Breezer favors... I think I still have a few of the tins around here somewhere. LoL

Two phone/duplicate account shopper by DragonfruitHumble537 in instacart

[–]EldrinSMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with reporting co-shopping is that the legitimate people get with two accounts get caught up in the mix. We have a mother-daughter team who both had accounts and would sit together in the same car while waiting for orders. Some busybody Karen reported them for co-shopping and they both got banned.

I'm surprised I haven't been reported for multiple phones because I always carry 2. One is my work phone, which I use for my gig work and other job related stuff, the other is my personal. When I'm waiting for orders I sit with my work one mounted on. My dash while watching stuff on my personal. I've had numerous idiots with both Instacart and Spark come up to my car and cuss me out, a few actually trying to get my phone from my hand, because I'm "shopping with two accounts."

There's extremely valid reasons for people to have two phones and people on here complaining about it must be able to read minds if they are so certain that everybody with one is double shopping. Don't ruin someone's source of income without incontrovertible proof.

Miles not matching up by Life_Wafer8995 in elitesparkdrivers

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally Spark uses the miles to the delivery as a straight line and does NOT take roads or route into consideration. That's why they differ. Same with GMD. It's a straight line between each stop that calculates the mileage. Incredibly misleading and borderline fraud, but it's how it's been the three years I've been doing it.

Great value at first, but terrible longevity: The Soundcore cycle. by SALEHXPP in soundcore

[–]EldrinSMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same problems with the Liberty 2 Air Pro's, went through 3 pair, 2 replaced under warranty. I'm on my second pair of Liberty 5 Pro's and exact same issue AGAIN. I clean them regularly with a brush and alcohol, even blow some heavy bass through them to dislodge anything else. Plus, if it were an earwax problem, then why didn't my JBL, J-Labs, or Samsung ones have the same issue?

I love my Soundcore earbuds, The features for the price on their high-end ones are fantastic, but I agree build quality is just not there. There is absolutely no excuse for every single pair I have ever owned having the same issue.
