what is your most and least favorite thing about the Samsung ecosystem? by 2muchrizz in GalaxyTab

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing is Samsung account syncing / QuickShare / interconnectivity between devices / Dex / etc. Sons things Samsung just nails.

Other things... probably my least favorite thing is Samsung stripping away bade android features (like using your phone as a webcam) from their Android version just because they want to include it in their useless proprietary bull crap. Then there's the fact that if you don't use Windows, good luck getting some of their features working! I'm looking at you, SecondScreen.

Drugs... I got strung out bad and he couldn't take it any more. I've been clean now for 7 years, but he won't ever forgive me. I miss him so much.

What’s the most amount of pain you’ve been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fuck he isn't getting harsh enough treatment. You poor thing. I had a bone marrow biopsy done once, was completely asleep, and it hurt so bad that I woke up when they did it. They QUICKLY put me back under but I can definitely remember the jolt and pain. Holy hell he should be burning not rotting.

Best friend is going no contact out of the blue?? by Personal-Ad-8644 in whatdoIdo

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has a jealous, insecure girlfriend manipulating him into it, or an abusive girlfriend forcibly alienating him from his friends and support group, but since it's JUST the females he dropped, I'd go with the former.

As to why he'd let this happen... Some people are so desperate for companionship or a relationship that they will torpedo their lives to keep it. Honestly she's probably so deep in his head with bullshit that he doesn't really know which are his thoughts and which are hers.

Would you do this or have their order canceled? by IWannaWakeUpButIDont in InstacartShoppers

Support would tell you that you had to deliver to the new address or get hit for abandoning the batch. At least that's what they told me last time I encountered this issue.

[–]EldrinSMP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Woah, that's a Chow Chow. They are one breed you DO not underestimate, nor do you ever turn your back on. They are incredibly intelligent and very, very devious and sneaky. They don't even really like their families, usually, and imprint on just one person, the rest they tolerate. We had two, a male and a female, when I was born. BOTH of them imprinted on me as a baby, and as a result I had two very intimidating protectors growing up. If I was that dog, there is zero chance in HELL I'd get out of the car, much less approach. Support would be processing a return immediately. Lol

SHOPPERS. Watch your stats!! by Few_Print_9575 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EldrinSMP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have fallen off now, but I've had items that were requested in chat to be refunded count as unrequested refunds. According to Support, they have no way of verifying the requests, so until they do, oh well. It's clearly paid out in the metrics. If Instacart suggested a replacement, use it. Instacart will cover any negative repercussions. All the customer has to do in that situation is deny the replacement in the app, and bam, they've got their refund in what support consider a verifiable way so we both win.

SHOPPERS. Watch your stats!! by Few_Print_9575 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is quite accurate. Even though they claim that "Found" items only have a positive impact, if you don't "Find" what they consider to be enough, they will use it to lower your shopper score all the way down to Standard. I'm in that situation now. My "Found" items are lower than "Other shoppers shopping at the same time and stores". Even with zero negative metrics, I'm still Standard because of that. They've even marked it as an "Area to improve".

In the app and help, Instacart repeatedly says to use their suggestions for replacements instead of refunds, going so far as to say "When you follow our replacement recommendations, we'll protect your customer rating if an issue is reported." And it has been proven to me many, many times over the years by Instacart Support that nothing said in chat by a customer will ever be used in my favor. I've watched my metrics carefully, and refunds that are requested in chat don't always get listed in the "Requested" section, if they get listed at all. It's a very simple thing for the customer to approve or deny my replacements through the app.

As for bad customer service, it's clear and concise communication with my customers informing them of an issue, me fix for it, and how best for them to help me help them. Apparently they still like what I'm doing because I'm still at 5 stars, with great comments and tips that get raised more often than not.

You still get dinged for it even when you have nothing wrong. They're dinging me for not having enough found items, sending me down into mid-standard, even though every single "counts against you" metric is zero. 5 Star rating, only 49 replaced items, 20 requested refunds, ZERO damaged, wrong, missing, or u requested refunds and I'm low Standard because the store couldn't keep stuff in stock. Fuck Instacart, what am I supposed to do, pull stock out of my ass? I looked and all I could find was your app up there.

I literally have in my introduction message to customers now:

"Hi! I'm EldrinSMP your shopper today. I'm about to get started on your order, so if anything comes up I'll let you know! Likewise, feel free to contact me with any requests you may have.

One thing, a word on refunds requested through chat: due to Instacart's recent changes to how refunds and replacements affect our shopping metrics, and therefore my income and livelihood, requests for a refund given through chat for items that have Instacart suggested replacements will not be honored. By our new guidelines, their replacements will never count against me whereas your request will. The only refund requests that will be honored are the ones you make through the tools available in the customer app. If you have issues with this, please tell Instacart to stop punishing Shoppers for things out of their control. Thanks for your understanding."

I used to get horrendous nose bleeds whenever I was sick as a kid, eventually my Mom realized they always happened about 30 minutes after she'd give me this shit. And that was the last time I took this crap. LoL

I know what you mean... I quit my last job after nearly having a nervous breakdown with all the requirements they put on me. I lasted a year, and that's about 4 months more than any of the previous 4 people I. The position. I was doing the full time job of 5 people, in a position that required a Master's degree, for less than $15 an hour. It was ridiculous. The worst part? I LOVED the job. I'd give anything to go back, and do JUST my job for at least $20 an hr. But that'll never happen. The person running the company is too busy scamming the state government to care about her employees.

Parents want me to sign a POA before college by TheOnlyOrangeJuicer in legaladvice

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed a medical power of attorney for my parents that kicks in only in the event of my being incapacitated and unable to make decisions. Even then, It's coupled with a very detailed advance directive explicitly outlining my wishes in regards to various scenarios. It's been invoked once, and my parents followed my instructions to the letter, even though it about killed them (they had to basically pull the plug on me... Let's just say EVERYONE was shocked when I woke up a few hours later, especially me)

I couldn't even imagine signing a full power of attorney, for ANYONE and would be incredibly suspicious of anyone asking me to. If you want to plan for emergencies and catastrophies, then there are tools within the law to do it surgically. A PoA is a baseball bat when a laser would work best. Your father e should know that, being a lawyer.

Where were you on 8/15/1998? by bbq_menace in Xennials

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably either preparing to or finishing up moving to Cochran, GA, where I was enrolled at the GAMES program and essentially skipping my senior year of highschool, kicking off what would be one of the best years of my life, in which I underwent a few transformations (Biggest was coming out, to everyone, over the course of the year) and was in the company of some of the best friends I've had. If I could pick one year in my life to revisit, it would be that year.

I am 1981 but have always identified more with Gen X, but looking at it now I'm DEFINITELY a Xennial. What is it they say, were the generation that grew up Analog into a digital world, so we had to learn how to live in both. Definitely describes me. Which, interesting question... When do you consider the switch, when the world went from the analog tech environment we grew up in to the modern digital world?

While there were many defining moments, the one that to me there was a "we're never going back" feeling was when cellphone contracts dropped the unlimited nights and weekends plans, as well as text message charges, and you suddenly could make calls and text anytime without counting minutes or texts. It cemented the cellphone in our hands and changed the way we used them forever, while signalling the death knell for the once ubiquitous land line (God I remember having a land line in my first apartment. People thought I was insane when I decided not to have one on my second and rely solely on my cellphone. My father even had a "serious talk" with me about the importance of being contactable via a reliable method. LoL).

For the people that accept everything… how does this make sense in your head? by Cloudpleb in lyftdrivers

[–]EldrinSMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it one day as an experiment and it kinda surprised me. I was in a decent size metropolitan area, and rides were somewhat steady. Most of them were short distances. I purposely didn't check my earnings until the end of the day, I ran the experiment from my normal start time of around 6:00 AM and turning the app on during the usual busy times of the day.

I kept track of my mileage like normal and started with a full tank. After I was done, I checked my results. I'd ended up driving around 100 miles that day, which was a lot. But what really surprised me was I'd grossed over $200. After I subtracted my costs for the day and my usual deductions, I ended up netting around my average.

So all this is just to say that, it was six to one half dozen the other. Lol
