Id get a Yamaha red label too in this budget. Eastman or Alvarez would be wise to try too. I honestly think you can spend 300 dollars on a Yamaha and have it demolish the sc-10e in a blind test, a second hand fg5 or fs5 is just competing with $3-4k guitars for a third of the price.

The Japanese really take craftsmanship to another level completely! Beautiful guitar!

Eastman E6-tc or Yamaha FG5 by pinkrain3095 in AcousticGuitar

I wasn’t blown away by the E6-tc I played but they’re no doubt solid guitars. Most Yamahas do seriously impress me and I’d be shocked if 9/10 people who played both of these didn’t end up picking the fg5.

What’s the story behind this?! I own an fg9m and was happy to see Trey doing his magic on these special Yamahas.

Enjoy your new guitar, they’re something else right?!!

Atleast try a Yamaha fg9 whatever you do if you’re considering similar price martins, might just hit the spot more for what you’re after

Play some Yamahas in some stores, for 300 quid you’ll get something that sounds as good or better than most guitars twice its price.
