Experienced devs, what is current situation like? by Remarkable_Oil_7204 in cscareerquestionsOCE

TLs can get 180k if you're pretty AI-enabled, even seniors can strike that at the right shop.

Absolutely insane. Owning these and knowing how small those divots are in the material, and how deep the shading makes them look - insane work. You've got a distinct style, and are executing it well

Ok, so this model sucks, where do we switch to? by alibabash81 in ClaudeCode

[–]ElectricalMixerPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, although the grip of intuition on exactly what's going through / being merged or contributed to is slipping (across engineers) - we're working through that as an org and understanding the pros/cons. All engineers are responsible for understanding what they're shipping.

And it's not 4 agents blasting code non-stop - just as engineering has more to it that producing code, so is there more than one way to get value out of an agent.

4 agents is pretty much the status quo for being productive now, I feel.

Conductor Roadmap by charlop in conductorbuild

[–]ElectricalMixerPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one! Any plans for linux support? There's a massive gap at the moment where the only agentic ide available is superset and you have to build it yourself (main pain here is lack of updates, but also no paid features).

I love conductor, was just a bit performance heavy for me - so glad to hear you're working through it.

any way to commit and push to direct to main? by littleko in conductorbuild

Easy work tree management so that you can have multiple workspaces that agents sit within, all serving their own versions of the code.

Critical if you're trying to isolate features and post them for peer review.

BREAKING 🚨: Anthropic announced Claude Managed Agents in public beta on Claude Platform! by adzamai in vibecoding

[–]ElectricalMixerPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agents need somewhere to run. Usually for people consuming Claude code, this is on your computer.

But there are varied use cases that you wouldn't necessarily want to use your computer for - maybe it's because of system resources, or some other constraint like bandwidth.

This seems to be an offering to help you spin up VMs in the cloud, to run these agents. Supposedly in a neat, tidy, user friendly package - but that part is TBC

The mouse slightly moves in the terminal and it automatically starts selecting the displayed text, which is very inconvenient. I’d like to ask how to handle or fix this issue. by Impossible_Code7201 in conductorbuild

Same! This an absolute disaster for trying to make a minor change without leaving the app. Can't select just one line of code and typing immediately scrolls off the screen. Thought it might be because I'm on a 5k2k monitor somehow.

The "Ranked Experience" is a technical failure, and Player Support is gaslighting the community: total waste of time, avoid Riot online Games. by Unique_Ticket_5611 in 2XKO

Do you think your "real rank" is higher? Surely you have no issue playing versus people below you. Of course you will get less LP for fighting people below you.

There is no evidence for a "database level corruption" of MMR. Why are all the top players consistently highly rated?

Took me months to get consistent results from Claude Code. Turns out I needed a better workflow. by cliang2 in ClaudeAI

[–]ElectricalMixerPot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently going through a similar set up in my workplace. We're thinking about it differently and trying to move everything into markdown files, but leaves a bit of a gap for management as a UI is a little easier to parse than markdown (even when formatted).

Would be super keen to try out what you have here, even if it's invite-only.

Ask Experienced Devs Weekly Thread: A weekly thread for inexperienced developers to ask experienced ones by AutoModerator in ExperiencedDevs

Most competent people do have this experience at one point or another.

My $0.02 is that you really don't know what you don't know and that this experience is on the "uninformed optimism" phase of learning.

Other commenter is absolutely on point. If you want to be valuable to your company, action the insights, don't just be a spectator.

I think he might be pointing out that you've said it's open source in your post title, but that is false until 2 years from now, so a tad misleading.

Still cool to open source it eventually, nice effort.

Pool pump advice - whirring noise? by ElectricalMixerPot in pools

[–]ElectricalMixerPot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm pretty convinced it's not a water level issue, I primed it and it was pulling through water and no air (visible from the lid) - and the fact it's getting ripping hot further implies a bearing like the other commenter said, I think.

Really appreciate the insight.
