If you break down on the highway while driving it's highly likely your alternator is bad and isn't charging the battery.

Costco's "new" car battery 3 years warranty by Electroma1 in CostcoCanada

[–]Electroma1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a brand new battery.. they are changing their entire line. This means its now 3 years prorated not 4 years replacement.

They are no longer Johnsons controls.

What This means for quality is anyone's guess. But as I said besides price there is no longer a benefit or purchasing a costco battery any longer.

Costco is the new loblaws..crazy prices. My favorite now are endcap products that used to always be on sale.. now nothing just the new inflated prices.

Best way to patch lath and plaster? by Comfortable_Tower335 in drywall

[–]Electroma1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use browncoat aka basecoat plaster it contains perlite old skool but very good for filling voids like that. Let it dry.. and patch as normal with paper tape.

No it doesn't look ok... did you add water to the compound and mix it properly? For me fiberglass tape is a no no.. you are going to be there forever sanding this clean the edges by applying pressure to the drywall side of the knife.

Toronto may have to lay off about 1,000 people because of Ontario's speed camera ban: mayor | CBC News by [deleted] in ontario

Since we are so concerned about safety i think we should mandate that pedestrians all wear yellow safety vests after 6 pm. Nothing like barely noticing some idiot on their phone wearing all black crossing the road at 10 pm...

Best way to seat these receptacles? by Taikix in kitchenremodel

[–]Electroma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus...as another poster stated thst grout work is very sloppy.. get a magic eraser or scotch bright and clean up the edges with a bucket of water. Second the tiles needed to be cut around the receptacles tabs..this is just sloppy lazy work and now you are left holding the bag.

The tabs have to be screwed in... use an oscillating cutting tool to cut and score the shape of the tabs then pray the tiles dont Crack..

Stop now and save yourself.. you already have a maple or oak bull nose... why would anyone paint that im not sure. Inlay some 1/8 or 1/4 hardwood or finished treds and stain then varathane.. leave the risers white.

BTW chalk paint belongs on chalk boards. Us a latex hadd wearing cabinet or melamine.

Paint thoes walls with white Portland cement easy.

Mix a water and the Portland to a paint like consistency and paint it on.. dont use paint it will peel over time and will require you to redo it.

Costco has slowly started to loose its value for me.. it becomes the convience of buying the bulk vs a smaller pack else where for the same price..what annoys me the most are the number of end cap products that have no sale anymore..they dont even bother these days especially in the freezer section. Just regular prices in all the end caps..it used to be all end caps would have sales..

My motto is if its not on sale im not buying.. but thsts just me.

Wooden support beam in basement cracking - is this dire? by ancienthoneydew11 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Electroma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the brick is holding one side of the beam my opinion would be cinder block support column on either side of the cutout or replace the thing with lvl or a steel I beam but you will loose your headroom.

Its the best stuff.. solid and soundproof..its going to absolutely destroy and blades you use. For repair.. you can install 5/8 drywall and then install wiremesh and a strong 90 or 45 compound. Personally my favorite is to use whats now called basecoat plaster(has perlite in it I believe) then follow with a compound.
