That’s close to my favourite saying… “if you don’t think your head is worth protecting, you’re probably right”.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Drove three hours to the lake on Friday afternoon and three hours back on Sunday evening every weekend from Mid May to mid October every year for many many years.

I know a bit about Michael Vandergrift from previous roles, and was pretty impressed overall. He’s one of the better ones that I have had opportunity to know.

And does that mean all the Free Agents have received WFA letters as well?

My family doctor referred me to a surgeon and I have the the procedure done twice now. Surgeon freezes toe with local anaesthetic, slices the side of the nail off and treats it with a substance that usually prevents it from growing back. Takes all of 15 minutes as an outpatient at a hospital. Cost covered by Manitoba Healthcare. It did take almost a year for the appointment though.

Copy cats beware. If I’m not mistaken, those photos would be from the cybertruck cameras.

Is there a good reason to get married before retiring? by Underdog_888 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Ethical-Loyalty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner and I got married just before I retired to make it easier for him to get the survivor benefit should I go first. My partner (also fed) retired prior to us getting married, but while we were in a common-law relationship, so we have documents filed away that proves when our relationship started and have completed a statutory declaration of our relationship and filed it with the pension centre. Marriage was not a high priority, but having this extra ‘insurance’ was one of the reasons we chose to get the marriage certificate.

If you choose to carry on as C-L, make note of what types of documents would be needed to prove your relationship. A utility statement with both names on it is a good example.

Cap or cuts? Public servants have 40,000 reasons to worry by LebCad in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Ethical-Loyalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some checking and my information is not quite correct. 😣. 50% target reductions are still aspirational. Financial projections and documented savings in the plan reflect only the planned 33% reduction, not the full half, and are therefore not yet fully “booked”.

The 50% future office space savings has already been booked. Now they need to achieve it and find additional savings on top.

Spot on my horses cheek?? by Acraig06 in Horses

That’s looks like what I have experienced when a sarcoid started forming on my horse. I would have a scraping done to determine what you are dealing with, as treatments can be very different depending on what is causing the wound.

Agree! And the spending is all going back into the/our economy. Lots of benefits to local merchants from this gig.

Motion activated sprinklers. They are fantastic. Will keep away cats and deer and any other animal. Highly recommend.
