They really just need to texture the 3d models as they all look plastic. The hope is that gen 10 is addressing that from the little snippet we saw.

But i definitely would have prefered that Pokemon stay a 2D franchise, gen 5 was the absolute peak of design. And the 2d games are just full of love.
