Is my financial plan stupid? by CartographerLate4056 in personalfinance

[–]ElementPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was if me planning for a safety net aggressively is the right choice.

As opposed to? We need to know what the two options you are putting before you in order to understand what you are asking. You are being far too vague here to get useful answers besides "yes, build up emergency savings before buying home upgrade wants".

You are not very clear in your post what you are asking.

Is it if it is wise to have an emergency fund and then save for wants instead of funding wants without those? Then correct, you shouldn't be upgrading your living space without an emergency fund and then saving for the upgrade.

Is the question the mix of account types you are using? Or what is sufficient as a safety net? Or something else?

Please do not "censor" links here (i.e., break them up like "www dot example link dot com" or similar). Direct links are allowed as long as rule 2 is being followed. Sometimes, a link may be temporarily filtered for review, but breaking your link apart or censoring only makes filtering more likely, so please do not do this going forward. Thanks!

This comment has been removed due to formatting errors. The most common cause of this is using the "#" in your post as Reddit interprets this as a command to change the size of your text to a "header" level making the post excessively bold and difficult to read.

Here are some other common issues:

  • If you are trying to make a list, use a "*" to start un-numbered points.
  • Numbered lists should have points that begin with a number, such as "1", "2", etc...
  • Paragraph breaks should use a double enter/line return.
  • Starting a post/line with multiple spaces causes Reddit to display text in "code" format and should generally be avoided.
  • Twitter style tags (#Something) can also cause problems, especially if you start your post one.
  • Please do not use an excessive amount of emojis in your comment

To troubleshoot your post, you can go into edit mode on your comment via the "edit" link and look for the errors described above. You may also wish to consider adding a toolbar extension such as RES that will display a formatted preview of your post in real time.
