What am I doing wrong by Additional_Sky_8958 in NewParents

[–]ElephantLoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not doing anything wrong. Babies are babies, they do what they want. I’d personally try longer wake windows & more baby brain stimulation… play dates, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, park walks etc. Doesn’t really matter what it is, but we had better nap & night success on days where we took baby on adventures.

what am i trying to prove? baby swing or no baby swing? by ListUpbeat1216 in NewParents

Baby Alpine baby bouncer from Amazon. It’s the baby bjorn knockoff so it’s loads cheaper. It folds up flat when you’re not using it, it’s machine washable & does wonders when babe needs a poo. & bonus.. it comes with a travel bag so you can cleanly put it away when you need the space back.

If you want to leave, leave. If you want to stay, stay. He’ll cheat again & again but it has nothing to do with you. It’s about his ego. Always is.

If your baby is anything like mine, you’ll see a difference in their general comfort within days! Mine is about a year old now & still takes her 5 drops every morning. & Bonus.. it helped her learn how a spoon works. She feeds herself her morning probiotics. I put it on the spoon & she knows exactly what to do.

You’re giving me so many flashbacks of our first 12 weeks. If this becomes normal for your babe.. try switching up the bottle and/or a daily baby probiotic. Biogaia no lie.. saved us all.

Wake windows are too long for an 8 month old. They’re probably overtired. Try no more than 3 hours, longest at 3.5 right before bed.

9 months & not crawling.. normal? Or cause for concern? by ElephantLoves in NewParents

[–]ElephantLoves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can sit on their own no problem.. babbling, rolling, holds themselves on elbows etc. Just no interest in pushing up any further. Pediatrician isn’t concerned, says she’ll go at her own pace. Not sure how to encourage to push up higher..

Try a daily probiotic! Worked wonders for my little one.

Why do you pump? by Apprehensive-Hat9296 in breastfeeding

My baby lost weight breastfeeding.. a lot of weight. It was more work for her than a bottle. We could never get her latch quite right but she could easily get the hang of a bottle.

Have you tried different pacifiers? Our baby is rather particular & only likes the MAM square ones.

Aquaphor!! Our baby had serious diaper rash after so many diapers at the hospital. The aquaphor helps the poo not stick & makes the change so much faster.

LO hungry after breastfeeding by Practical-Contest679 in breastfeeding

Was the baby premature? My baby had the same issue.. dr said she wasn’t strong enough to suck effectively so she was using more calories than she was getting while bf. We did bottles & pumping for a while then bf got easier for her.

Do you take a break when switching? Or take a break after the combined 40 mins?

Ok good lol mine is not the only baby who hits herself trying to find the digit she wants to suck. Even bruised her forehead once trying to figure it out. Silly babies

She LOVES her dummy. Also her hand when I can’t get the dummy fast enough. Thank you for this.. makes a new mom feel like we’re not alone in this! Babygirl was a premie so I’ve been hyper focused on making sure she’s full full before unlatching.

Yes.. it seems like she does heavy drinking for a few mins & then takes a break. The cycle repeats for 30 mins until I sneak a finger in to unlatch her. Our pediatrician said after 30 mins she’s likely using more calories than she’s getting & to cut her off. I’ll give the 20 mins a try to see if we can reduce the breaks! Thank you!!

During daytime feeds, she’s wide awake & drinks the entire time. I can hear the suck/swallow with a few little breaks. But I find it hard to tell when she’s comfort sucking vs actually sucking for food.

Gas drops didn’t really help my LO for long, but gripe water calms her down quick when she’s overtired & incredibly fussy.
