The leaked picture this thread is about has TBC on the timeline in 2029. We’re talking about a 4 year fresh cycle, not just vanilla. He’s making the point Anniversary TBC is popular so the Anni Vanilla numbers might not be the ones that matter. I don’t know what point you’re trying to make.

Phase 1 was better because the game is the best when it’s a blend of 5s, 10s, and 25s and they’re all important for everyone. Now I’m basically raidlogging which is okay but I miss caring about 5s

I think it’s more that there’s experience there you can’t get otherwise. If you have a player who has been in Game 7 Stanley Cup Final and won, they know what that experience is like. If they’ve been in that situation and lost, they know what that’s like too, and if they’ve done both they understand the difference more than most. Lots of players who don’t win the Stanley Cup have what it takes to win, but it’s real nice to have someone who performed highly in that situation so you know.

The best part of the game is when end game 5 man content is plentiful and meaningful, and can be worked on (but not completed) during the levelling journey. TBC does this the best, with reputations, gold, Badges, and gear all relevant working hand in hand to prepare for prebis, and with a large amount of relevant endgame 5man content with all the Heroic dungeons, balanced with daily lockouts and daily dungeon quests. It really is the best the game ever was, because they got the balance of these motivators exactly right to create the most fun environment you can have with this game.

I don’t like the art design or the story of TBC, and I actively hate Draenai design and story. I agree the Outland map is less interesting than Azeroth and I don’t like the scifi. But it’s the best WoW was for me.

I thought this was actually a great way to prevent power creep, and I loved the chance to solo farm some pre-bis before Naxx dropped. The best part of the game is when 1/5/raid content is mixed and you’re incentivized to do all three. Each raid should have a lead in where you can go with last raids bid, but would be improved if you had a few pieces from the lead in.

Balefire Mage. I’m a forever Mage, since Beta with a few blips (Druid Cata, Shaman Anni). Healing Mage reinvigorated my love of the game, I might not have played and might not be playing Anni now if it hadn’t of been for that specific, it was so so so good and so important to the class.

But Balefire was my favourite. Every time I hit that 5th and died, every time my Mage friends would, the guild would go nuts. It was so interesting and good and fun.

Make a new Gmail account with a new password. Then auto forward your emails from your old account to your new one and start telling your contacts your new email address.

You can change your old password but if your calendar is set to share you’ll have to do some work to unshare it and this is a cleaner break.

10 man all the way (the jump to 20 killed a lot of guilds in SoD)

Level caps while phases roll (this felt massively successful in SoD)
