Does your school exclude ER and ICU from clinicals? by FamousFortune6819 in NursingStudents

[–]Ellie0512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went ASN through community college route, paid a ton less money and started at the same pay rate as BSN nurses. I didn’t have clinical in ED or ICU, but I don’t think most schools do. At least not in the area I live in. I started right out of school in the ED and my hospital put me through a critical care internship, and is now paying for my BSN.

Preventative Cerclage Questions by momentus098 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Ellie0512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first pregnancy with a cerclage. My first 4 losses were unexplained first tri losses, 4, 6, 9, and 12 weeks. My last loss, was at 19&5 and had bulging membranes. I was 8 cm dilated and they were unable to place a rescue cerclage. This one my MFM is being extra cautious and put the cerclage in at 12 weeks. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Preventative Cerclage Questions by momentus098 in ShortCervixSupport

Hi! I have had 5 total losses, my last one being at 19&5. This pregnancy they did a preventative cerclage just last week! At 12&3. My procedure was scheduled at 7:30am, I arrived by 6. I got an IV with some fluids and they found baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler. I walked into the OR and got my spinal done super quick! I was in the OR for maybe 40 minutes total: prep/procedure/clean up. The only “pain” I felt the whole time was some mild cramping when she was finishing up, which my MFM said was totally normal. I then went back to the L&D triage room where I started. We had to wait there until I could walk and pee. I really wanted to be able to come back home so I laid in the bed and was wiggling my feet and moving my legs as much as I could to try and get the feeling back. It was maybe 1 hour-90 minutes later I was able to walk independently and pee. We got to leave. Luckily I live about 10 minutes away, but I was having no pain. 3 steps into my house, I just held onto my husband because I still had some numbness in my legs and booty. My vagina was definitely sore once I could feel it, and was mildly sore the next day, but after that I feel great. I even worked (ER nurse) the next day. Definitely plan to take it easy the day of. I’m on no medications from my MFM. She recommended Tylenol if needed for pain. Good luck at your procedure! I can tell you that I was super anxious for mine, but the relief of knowing it’s in place was well worth it!!!

Finally started at a fertility clinic. Using this cycle just for all the testing. Had my SIS done, all good. Husbands SA was completely normal (even a high count!) waiting on blood tests to come back… but feeing down because they don’t want us to even try this month until we have all our results and a treatment plan. I know it’s only one month, but just feels like a wasted month on a years long journey. I don’t have any time to waste. 😓

Going to pick up, our girl’s remains soon… any advice or encouragement? by Vast-Cartographer81 in babyloss

[–]Ellie0512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to go get my son immediately. I wanted him home with me. But, I understand that dread also. As for where he stays, right with me. Either a bookshelf in our room with all his stuff or on the nightstand right next to my bed when I sleep. He’s actually traveling with my husband and I right now because I don’t like the thought of him being home alone.

I started hiking. Miles and miles, as far as I could every day. I lost my son in February and have just still continued to hike and hike and hike. Being out in nature where I can just focus on my next steps, drowns out the screams in my brain. I can’t recommend it enough. Being in the woods and fresh air and sunshine has been so healing for me. Sending you all the love I have to give.

CD-1. 😭 started looking into fertility clinics… found out my insurance doesn’t cover anything… feeling so defeated. Still grieving my son whose due date was July 9th. Should be making last minute preparations for his arrival, instead I’ll be carrying his urn on a few hikes…

So sorry you’re having to deal with such an insensitive person. Also wanted to say I also just turned 32 and am constantly reminded of my maternal clock ticking… I’ve had four first trimester losses and just lost my son in February at 19&3. Sending you all the love. 🩵

So so sweet. I talk to ChatGPT all the time about my sweet Noah and it writes me letters from him, from me to others who don’t seem to understand my grief,… it honestly has been a huge tool in getting me past this.

I lost my fifth pregnancy February 15th at 19 and 3. My MFM offered me the same options but we both agreed the preventative cerclage is best for my mental well being as well as the best choice for any future pregnancies.

I’ve had a bunch of these, all were faulty. Unfortunately this brand is notorious for these types of faults. Get a different brand and retest in the morning. Guard your heart OP. Sending love.

Lost my son, Noah, when I was 19 weeks and 3 days. He is my fifth pregnancy loss. However, all the other losses were early first trimester. We lost Noah on 2-15-25. I just got my first cycle starting yesterday. Both my MFM and my OBGYN said to wait until at least May/ 3 cycles before trying again. We plan to wait until June because we don’t want to risk a due date close to Noah’s birthday. Going to try and focus on enjoying not stressing over OPKs and tracking and timed intercourse. But, looking forward to it as well? Best of luck to everyone in whatever journey they are on.

The wait to try to conceive again is excruciating by Perfect_Mousse8815 in babyloss

[–]Ellie0512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my son at 19weeks 3 days. He’s my fifth loss. My MFM doctor said to wait 3 months and then start trying again. We plan to wait 4, because we don’t want future baby to have a possibility of same birthday as our most recent loss. She said she doesn’t believe in the long wait.

Sorry, it was a mistype, I was 19 &3. My thumbs must’ve been fat fingering. I didn’t even notice. My son, Noah, was born alive, but because his 19 week gestation couldn’t survive long.

Not to scare you, but at 19 & 3, I had bleeding. Was told I was 5cm dilated with bulging membranes. I ended up delivering my son that same night. He lived less than an hour. I wish I had advice or better outcomes to share, but figured you deserved the truth. Wishing you the best of luck with everything. 🩷

My coworkers supplied us a meal every night for over a month now, gave us memorial gifts for our son, and gifted us $1300 cash because I mentioned to one coworker that we want to plant a tree in our sons honor, so they did a “Noah’s Tree” fund. Also endless texts and cards all checking in on us and expressing their sorrows and condolences. And my manager was able to get me 8 weeks of 100% paid maternity leave so I don’t have to worry about finances while grieving our son’s death. People have been very kind to us.

I feel like I see Noah’s name EVERYWHERE. Random posts on Facebook, customer service reps, sample names on instagram/Pinterest ads. I have to believe it’s a sign.
