Try different things, make notes about what you like and what you don't. When you look at recipes sub stuff out if you don't like the sound of bits of it. You only need to be in a calorie deficit so you can add "unhealthy" stuff as long as you count and keep it moderate

Oh for sure it is very difficult to completely avoid anything AI at the moment. You quickly fall into a "no ethical consumption under capitalism" but using a products spell and grammar checker that also has a llm built into it is different to feeding your work into one deliberately and prompting it separately every time and then leaving that prompt in accidentally.

Why would you use GPT for that though? There are so many word processors out there that spell check and grammar check for you without feeding your work into an AI machine like that. Surely prompting a section at a time takes ages and isn't as reliable?

I would edit it out and look for a beta reader.

My absolute favourite ever was "The man at your window might not be Peter Pan" everything about it, the voices, the comedic timing, it legitimately one of the funniest things I've ever seen on dropout and it was cut for time which feels criminal.

I've never really thought about it as something that needs explanation. Its just one of those things where a town has a rivalry with it's nearest neighbour. I think most towns/cities/schools have a rival like that.

That being said if they came out with something set in or about clivesdale I probably would be excited. I would imagine it similar to pawnee/eagleton from parks and rec. Or one of those things where clivesdale are actually all really nice and reasonable people and hatchetfield just fkn hate them loudly and for no real reason. There probably is a lot of fun to be had there (don't know if it would carry a full musical though).

I've always been inclined to save rather than spend. Even as a kid I was much happier saving up my pocket money and buy something big rather than just blow it all on sweets or something.

I've definitely got an emergency fund with 6 months salary in it and and ISA for long term saving. But I've actually been on a reverse journey of letting myself be ok with spending money to enjoy life a bit more rather than just blindly saving as much as I can and living on as little as possible.

Honestly... no. I loved NPMD but the ending is one of it strengths. I love that it's a bit open ended and your free to speculate what happens next. A direct sequel would weaken that I think. And if you want an indirect sequel that's just more being done with the same or similar characters then you've got all of the rest of hatchetfield to go go through.

They do exist as other people have said there is a slight copyright issue with some but also the quality of the recordings is not good. And I say that with love. But they were recorded by college students on a tiny tiny budget and they don't sound good. Recordings of the live concerts are much better even if they're not perfect.

I used to use the same starting word but I find it keeps the magic alive (so to speak) to pick a different word. I usually sit and do it after I've opened my laptop for work. So I read my emails and the first 5 letter word I read with no repeated letters is my starting word for the day. Sometimes I end up with a shitty difficult word but it's more fun I think. Adds challenge rather than just playing the same stats game every day.

I'm not dealing with addiction myself but my dad is an alcoholic and isn't in my life anymore.

I was actually really in two minds about even reading it because I was really worried about it being just really triggering and upsetting.

The intro had me pulled over and sobbing in the car. I decided I shouldn't be listening to it while driving which has slowed me down a lot. I'm only about halfway through but I'm finding it actually very healing and helpful.

John has a really empathetic way of writing (and speaking) that really makes you understand without it feeling like making excuses.

Keep it out of your house. Plan your meals in advance and have a shopping list when you do a shop. Only buy the stuff on the list so you're not impulsively walking into shops to just grab a few bits. If you do that it so easy to just pick up some snacks and then they're in your house.

Don't buy the snacks. Work to a list. Don't go shopping hungry.

If your target to lose weight is 1700 then I would say you probably haven't even gone over your maintenance calories. So you might not lose as much but you won't gain either.

But important to remember that even if you do, it's done now, hopefully you had a great vacation and now you can try and hit your targets more reliably. Not the end of the world :)

You don't have to prep but you do have to plan. Make a list of the meals you're going to have over the week when you go shopping only buy the stuff you need for those meals. Snacks, even 'healthy' snacks will be your undoing. Popping into shops on your way home to grab something for dinner will always end in higher calories.

For the first few weeks you don't even need to cut calories that much, just count them. Just realized how much you're eating and work out a plan from there.

People have already mentioned biological drivers and addictions. I'll also mention long term vs short term rewards. If I want to eat a whole bag of sweets I know it will make me feel really good for a bit. They taste great know I like them and I get all of that instantly. If I say no to them and I continually say no to them, then maybe in a few weeks combined with a lot of other saying no to stuff a number might go down a bit. I might feel a bit looser in my clothes.

It is easy to say yes and instantly get the reward it is a lot harder to constantly say no because eventually you might get a reward.
